Abstract

ABSTRACT Making hole for planting perennial crops in Indonesia, especially in the farmer's plantation is still dominated by simple equipment such as hoe, manual drill etc,. while using heavy equipment such as post-hole-digger is performed only by big estates. For this reason, it is necessary to design soil-hale-digger machine which suits the field condition in Indonesia. The design was bused on Pahl and Beitz  method which optimizing the use of meterial, technology and economic condition and consist of severeral stops, namely, classification of the tasks, conceptual design, embodiment design and detail design. Structural design of the post-hole-digger consisted of several main components, namely, source of power. power delivery. power transmission system, point of drill and edge of point. Source of power used was a two-stroke gasoline engine of 2.38 kW delivered through a centrifugal clutch and transmitted by worm gear with 10 : 1ratio. Abstract

At this time material handling in the industry is still done manually which can be interpreted as the task of moving goods, material flow, final products or other objects that use humans as a source of energy. At PT. XYZ activities related to lifting and also moving goods carried out were manually moving springbeds but workers found it difficult and also had several complaints and pain in parts of the body based on the Nordic Body Map questionnaire given to workers. Therefore the authors created a design for a springbed conveyance to move mattresses from the production floor to the warehouse in accordance with the principles of ergonomic operators using the Reverse Engineering method to develop products that function to improve the performance of workers and a conveyance. And also use the VDI 2221 method to optimize the technology, material and economic conditions of the conveyance. The results of the REBA analysis of the two jobs carried out by workershave a high level of risk with a REBA score of 8 for lifting and a very high risk level with a REBA score of 12 for laying. 4,662. The Lifting Index (LI) value obtained is> 1 so that it has a risk of injury to the operator.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the top chocolate producers in the world. Indonesia is capable of producing primary and secondary products of processed chocolate. The primary product of processed chocolate is cacao seeds, while the secondary products as nata and raw material for composts. Along with the growth of Indonesia’s chocolate planting area, Indonesia’s production activities need to develop as well to optimize Indonesia’s process production. One of the machines that is used on processing primary product of chocolate is chocolate melting machine. Chocolate melting machine function to regulate chocolate paste temperature, that mixed fat in chocolate optimally. Chocolate melting machine also needs to keep temperature down for chocolate’s fat shrinkage, and to regulate chocolate’s temperature for pouring into mold. Akebonno model: 9818 is a product that able to keeps temperature on chocolate paste to mix fat and chocolate. This product can also keep chocolate’s temperature for chocolate’s fat shrinkage. With reverse engineering applied, this research can describe the function of each component on the machine, and develop a product that will further easier production process.

Abstract

PT. Wijaya Anugerah Abadi is a company engaged in services related to air conditioners both in terms of installation, removal and maintenance. This company serves from the aspect of sales, installation, service, and repair for all the needs of individuals, offices, factories, etc. Companies need many types of freon tubes to support their work. Storage of freon tubes when aligned below is very space-consuming and makes it difficult for technicians to identify the type of freon tube because several freon tubes have the same color, therefore in this study the authors are trying to make a freon tube storage rack which is expected to make it easier for technicians to identify the type of tube freon is needed, besides that this storage rack is expected to increase the space efficiency of the company. Data collection and processing includes several things, namely respondent data, product prerequisite questions and product research questions. The questionnaire is intended to obtain respondent data in using the tool you want to design. Then, the use of the Nordic Body Map questionnaire aims to determine work discomfort felt by workers. The researcher will continue the design according to the company's needs. using the VDI 2221 method. Based on the results of observations and interviews with workers, it can be concluded that there are still many physical complaints experienced by workers, so this research is focused on reducing workers' physical complaints. The design of the Freon tube storage rack designed in this study is aimed at reducing the physical complaints of workers in picking up and storing freon tubes.

Abstract

Productivity improvement can be done for the success of MSMEs, but MSMEs in Indonesia are experiencing obstacles, especially in tools in production activities that are not well organized and work that is uncomfortable when carrying out work processes. This research was conducted at UMKM DWI VARISI located in Jatiuwung, Gembor. UMKM DWI VARIASI sells different types of car exteriors that are sold through several available e-commerce sites. The purpose of this study is to identify the causes of productivity disruptions, where the research calculates the standard time, identifies complaints and analyzes work posture, designs powerful work aids, and provides suggestions for improvements to improve worker comfort. Before compounding the packing table at UMKM DWI VARIASI were carried out packing table analysis with reverse engineering for packing table parts, with the VDI 2221 design method. Meanwhile, to determine the standard time, use a stopwatch time study for the packing process and ergonomic methods to determine the complaints felt by workers. The ergonomic method used to determine complaints was used by the Nordic Body Map, and REBA questionnaires.

Abstract

The boarding house is an option for students or university students who study or go to school outside the city, far from their parents. The owners of boarding houses for rent will provide a study table in each room for the tenants to meet their needs. However, most of the study tables provided are less practical and less ergonomic, which will result in tenants lacking space to carry out other activities. Therefore, in this research, a redesign of multifunctional study table products available on the market was carried out using the reverse engineering method and VDI 2221. This research was carried out to design a study table that can solve the above problem, namely a study table that has several additional features to this product such as adding a multifunctional mattress feature that can be used as a sofa which will save space, adding a feature for placing the printer at the bottom of the table which will help the product's practicality in carrying out printing activities, adding a cool fan feature to the product This adds a double table feature to the study table, where one table is for placing a monitor and on the other table there is a cool fan for placing a laptop with a mattress as a seat. This research will be carried out using a questionnaire to determine people's needs and benchmark multifunctional study tables currently on the market to determine the size and features of competing products and adapt them to the product that will be redesigned.

Abstract

The situation after the COVID-19 pandemic made people need places for entertainment so that the tourism and entertainment sector grew rapidly. With the emergence of work from home, people need a place for entertainment. This development is in line with the quality of cafes and restaurants that need to be improved so that customers can be comfortable and repeat orders. In this process, to maintain customer retention, requests arise to hold live music, background sound, or function rooms for rent. In that case, audio is needed with good quality, easy to store, easy to adjust, move or direct so that its use can be maximized and reduce costs. Audio equipment is synonymous with large size and weight, making it difficult to move and not portable for mobile use. Therefore, a tool is needed to design a mobile audio trolley so that audio is easy to carry and use at competitive prices. With so many 4-6 inch speakers that are sold in large quantities, this is the benchmark for the dimensions of this product. By adjusting based on existing reverse engineering benchmarks known need metrics matrix, it is obtained that Product Functions in the first rank are made as priority needs. The difference after owning this product is that small equipment is safely carried around, speakers are moved easily and also with minimal effort, the speaker body remains smooth, the speaker's moisture is even more durable, it is much easier to carry and you are not afraid of the weather outside because this product is guarded.

Abstract

Modesty Sofa is a company engaged in the furniture industry which produces various types of sofas. In the sofa-making production process, it is divided into two stations, namely the sofa frame manufacturing station and the sofa finishing station. The lack of adequate facilities such as cloth cutting tools which are still done manually on the floor causes a less ergonomic work posture. Based on the results of distributing the NBM questionnaire to 2 employees, it was found that employees felt pain in the neck, back, waist, shoulders, thighs, calves and feet. In the REBA analysis, a score of 5 (medium risk level) was obtained for the squatting work posture and a score of 8 (high risk level) for the kneeling work posture, and in the OWAS analysis, a score of 2 was obtained for the squatting and kneeling work posture. From the conditions described, it is necessary to design storage racks and roll cloth cutting which can improve employee work posture and make it easier for employees to find fabric materials. The results of the REBA assessment on standing work posture of employees after implementing storage rack work tools and cutting cloth rolls only got a score of 3 (low risk), and on the OWAS assessment, got a score of 1, which means the work posture is in a safe position.

Abstract

A bending machine is a machine needed to produce a container for a transport truck. In producing container tubs, PT. XYZ manufactures the necessary components in the overall formation of the body including the body frame chassis components made of steel plates. In producing truck chassis frames, it can be seen that production targets from making truck chassis frame components are not achieved in production with bending machines. This is because there is damage to components such as hydraulics, PLC, encoder and so on on the main machine, namely the bending machine. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of the machine by analyzing Total Productive Maintenance with the overall equipment effectiveness method of the bending machine and the loss factor of the machine with six big losses. After that, an analysis was carried out using a fishbone diagram to find the cause of the problem from the bending machine. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the average availability value is 91.92%, the performance rate is 75.11%, the rate of quality product is 90.18%, and the overall equipment effectiveness value is 62.27%. So it can be seen that the overall equipment effectiveness value is low due to the low performance rate. The biggest percentage factor in the analysis using six big losses is reduced speed losses of 23.86%.
