Abstract

Descriptive research with a qualitative approach method is used because it is accordance with the research objectives, namely to describe students' mathematical literacy towards the performance of the PISA questions in terms of gender. The subjects in this study were two students that 1 male and 1 female in the high math ability of category in grade 9 of junior high schools. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling by giving a mathematical ability test to 25 students to see their mathematical abilities, then also taking into account the mathematics teaching teacher, two students were obtained as research subjects in accordance with the purpose of the study, namely to describe students' mathematical literacy based on gender, especially students with high mathematical abilities. The instrument used was a mathematical ability test and a mathematical literacy test as well as an interview guide as research data. Based on data analysis, there is an influence of gender on students mathematical literacy level. Female’s mathematical iteracy is better than male’s mathematical literarcy, so there needs to be efforts to improve learning from both teachers and schools so that there are no longer differences in abilities between male and female, and gender does not affect mathematical literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to design statisticl learning through the use of Google Classroom. In this study, a valid learning device was produced (validated by experts), and received a positive response as well as design learning statistic l. This research is classified as qualitative research. The 11th semester students at the University of Madura who are taking this 1st statistics course are the subjects in this study. While the data collection technique used is to use a response sheet that is filled out via Google Form and an assignment in the Google Classroom . The data analysis technique used is that student learning outcomes are sought for the average value if the result is more than 75, then the learning design applied is successful and can be used for other courses, and the response to learning outcomes is said to be positive if it gets a percentage of more than 75%. The observation sheet is filled with attention to student activities during the work of assignments and assignments are sent online to students via Google Classroom media. Problem assignments are given to students after they have studied statistics 1. The learning tools designed in this study are in the form of RPM, and test questions. Through this learning design, valid, effective and practical learning tools are obtained.

Abstract

Learning interventions are mostly carried out by teachers in accommodating students' learning needs according to their characteristics because they can help students in improving their thinking. One form of learning intervention carried out by the teacher is through a question submission. Asking is the most common verbal communication behavior used in teaching. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach because it is based on the research objective, finding out the use of questions by novice and experienced teachers in intervening mathematics class interactions. The subjects in the study were two novice teachers and two experienced teachers. The instruments used were observation sheets and interview guides which had been validated by the validator and declared feasible as research instruments. Checking the validity of the data using method triangulation and data source triangulation. The results of the study show that the use of questions by novice teachers and experienced teachers is still limited to uncovering operational knowledge and basic knowledge, not metacognitive knowledge, they are still using questions with the aim of remembering content that has been previously studied and providing calculation results and have not been able to encourage them to think critically, creatively as well as cultivating conceptual understanding and generating ideas and not directing and building student understanding  so that there is a need for training to improve the quality of teachers in mastering techniques for asking questions to students in order to develop and strengthen teachers' pedagogical abilities considering the importance of teachers' pedagogical abilities in implementing the learning process and asking questions in intervening in mathematics class interactions can encourage students to think critically and creatively and foster understanding. concepts and generate ideas and can direct and build their understanding well in order to compete in a global scope.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a 3C-based Osborn learning model to improve critical thinking skills, creativity, and character in students in a boarding school environment. The method used in this research is development research using the stages; 1) problem identification, 2) prototype and 3) assessment. The subjects in this study were MTs Az-Zubair students, especially class VII students. Problem identification is carried out by conducting learning observations conducted by teacher who teaches math subjects. Learning tools in the form of lesson plans (LIP), observation sheets, questionnaire sheets and formative test questions are developed to improve the 3C competence of students. The resulting device can be said to be good if it meets the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. The validity of the device can be tested by expert assessment, the practicality of the product can be tested by applying the model in learning and the effectiveness of the product can be tested by using the students' learning outcomes in answering formative questions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the device developed is valid, practical, and effective and can improve the critical thinking skills, creativity, and character of students.
