Abstract

Introduction: One of the main strategies on health human resources development and empowerment is increasing their efficiency in work. Motivation and demographic characteristics is one of the factors that affect the performance of nurses. The objective of this research was to find out the correlation between motivation and demographic characteristics with the performance of nurses work in Public Health Center in East Sumba Regency. Method: This is a quantitative research with correlation study technique approach. The population of this research is 232 nurses in East Sumba Regency with 102 respondents as research sample who was taken by non purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using univariate and bivariat, using statistical test of chi-quare. Result: The research results are there is a significant correlation of demographic characteristics (age, education level and length of work) and the performance of nurses; there is a correlation of intrinsic motivation (responsibility, achievement, recognition, progress, evolve possibilities) and extrinsic motivation (salary, job security, working condition, supervision quality, interpersonal relationships among peers and superiors) with the performance of nurses on Public Health Center in East Sumba Regency. Conclusions: of this research are there is a significant correlation between motivation and demographic characteristics with nurses` performance; based on multivariate test, achievement sub-variable is the most significant correlation toward performance variable.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a disease or disorder of the circulatory system that causes a rise in blood pressure above the normal value. Obedience comes from obedient basic words which means discipline and obedience. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between several variables that affect the level of adherence such as age, gender, education, knowledge, occupation, distance perception, severity and range of drug delivery. Method: This research is a quantitative research with nonrandom sampling of sam-pling type purposive sampling. Instrument used in this research in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets involving 30 people respondents suffering from hypertension. Results: Result: The results showed that of 30 respondents studied there were 17 respondents (57%) who did not adhere to taking medicine and there were 13 respondents (43%) who obediently took antihypertensive drugs. Based on Chi-square analysis with 5% significance level found that there is no meaningful relationship between age, sex, education, knowledge, occupation, distance perception, severity, and drug delivery range with medication adherence level Antihypertensive. Suggestion: It is recommended to health officers at BP YPK A and A Rahmat Waingapu to provide health education in the form of counseling about hypertension and its treatment periodically.

Abstract

Background:The problem of mental disorders throughout the world has become a very serious problem. WHO states there are at least 1 in 4 people in the world experiencing mental problems, it is estimated there are around 450 million people in the world who experience mental health disorders. The aim is to identify people with mental disorders based on: Demographics include: age, sex, education and employment and Nursing Diagnosis includes: violent behavior, social isolation, low self-esteem, hallucinations and self-care deficits in Kota Waingapu District, East Sumba Regency. Methods: This type of research uses descriptive. The sampling technique is total sampling. Results: From the results of the study found from 30 respondents the distribution of male sex suffered the most mental disorders as many as 16 people (53.3%), the age distribution that suffered the most from mental disorders aged 26-35 were 11 people (36.7%) , Education distribution that suffered the most from mental disorders with elementary school education was 14 people (46.7%) and the distribution of jobs that suffered the most from mental disorders by not working was 28 people (93.3%) and based on the most nursing diagnoses who experienced disorders hallucinations as many as 12 people (40%), Violence Behavior as many as 12 people (40%). Conclusion: With the presence of patients with mental disorders, it is expected that more patients will be considered in terms of treatment and health service agencies apply soul programs, especially in the government of East Sumba district.

Abstract

Student learning achievement is one of main factors which contributes success on high educational program. It can be measured by GPA (Grade Point Avarage). High GPA is influenced by internal and external factors. This research aim is to find out correlation of internal and external factors with student learning achievement in Nursing Department in Waingapu. This is a quantitative research with descriptive method and a correlation study technique approach. The population of this research is all students in Nursing Department in Waingapu which are 356 students. The research sample is 188 respondents. The sample was taken by non random technique which is purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate calculations. This research shows that there is a significant correlation of attitude, interest, economical class of parents, student activity in society and their social interaction with their learning achievement. The result also shows that attitude has the most significant correlation toward student learning achievement in Nursing Department in Waingapu.
