Islamic Education and Da’wah Strategies Based on Culture in the Ilir-ilir Song of Sunan Kalijaga Mulyono Mulyono

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the educational and da’wah strategies based on the culture in the Song Ilir-ilir Sunan Kalijaga. By using library research methods and content analysis techniques, the results as follows: 1) With a cultural approach, Sunan Kalijaga invites and educates the public to embrace Islam as a new religion that came to Java around the 13-15 century AD. 2).  Persuasively, Sunan Kalijaga made people aware of Islam by carrying out the five pillars of Islam while leaving all beliefs and deeds prohibited by Islam. 3) With the metaphor of Blimbing (star fruit).  Sunan Kalijaga assures people that whoever obeys the commands of Islam, will find peace and happiness in living in this world and the hereafter. Educators and preachers in various events create the Ilir-ilir Song as a cultural-based educational and da’wah strategy that remains popular in the millennial era. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji strategi pendidikan dan dakwah Islam berbasis kultural dalam lagu Ilir-ilir Sunan Kalijaga. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dan teknik analisis isi (content analisys), maka hasilnya dapat disimpulkan berikut: 1) Dengan pendekatan kultural, Sunan Kalijaga mengajak dan mendidik masyarakat untuk memeluk Islam sebagai agama baru yang datang ke tanah Jawa sekitar abad 13-15 M. 2) Secara persuasif, Sunan Kalijaga menyadarkan masyarakat untuk memeluk Islam dengan melaksanakan rukun Islam yang lima seraya meninggalkan segala keyakinan dan perbuatan yang dilarang Islam; 3) Dengan metafora buah blimbing, Sunan Kalijaga menyakinkan masyarakat bahwa barangsiapa yang taat menjalankan perintah Islam, kelak mendapatkan ketentraman dan kebahagiaan hidup di dunia dan di akhirat. Para pendidik maupun juru dakwah dalam berbagai event mengkreasi lagu Ilir-ilir sebagai strategi pendidikan dan dakwah berbasis kultural yang tetap populer di era millineal.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji strategi pendidikan dalam Tembang Lir-Ilir Sunan Kalijaga sebagai media dakwah kultural. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dan teknik analisis isi (content analisys), maka hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan berikut: Pertama, Sunan Kalijaga menciptakan Tembang Lir-Ilir diperkirakan pada akhir abad 15 M. Kedua, Tembang Lir-Ilir memiliki kandungan bahasa simbolik dan konotatif, terdiri dari 53 kata, 5 kata yang bereduplikasi (pengulangan), 9 makna simbol natural (realitas alam), 3 blank simbol, dan 31 makna konotasi (memiliki makna rasa). Ketiga, strategi pendidikan yang sekaligus sebagai media dakwah kultural dalam Tembang Lir-Ilir, yaitu: 1) Dengan pendekatan kultural, Sunan Kalijaga mengajak masyarakat untuk memeluk Islam sebagai agama baru yang datang ke tanah Jawa sekitar abad 13-15 M.; 2) Secara persuasif, Sunan Kalijaga menyadarkan masyarakat untuk memeluk Islam dengan melaksanakan rukun Islam yang lima seraya meninggalkan segala keyakinan dan perbuatan yang dilarang Islam; 3) Dengan metafora buah blimbing, Sunan Kalijaga menyakinkan masyarakat bahwa barangsiapa yang taat menjalankan perintah Islam, kelak mendapatkan ketentraman dan kebahagiaan hidup di dunia dan di akhirat. Keempat, para juru dakwah dalam berbagai event menggunakan Tembang Lir-Ilir sebagai media dakwah berbasis kultural yang tetap populer di era millineal. The purpose of this study is to examine the educational strategy in the Tembang Lir-Ilir of Sunan Kalijaga as a cultural propaganda media. By using library research methods and content analysis techniques, the results of this study can be concluded as follows: First, Sunan Kalijaga created the Lir-Ilir Song estimated at the end of the 15th century AD. Second, the Lir-Ilir Song had content symbolic and connotative language, consisting of 53 words, 5 duplicated words (repetition), 9 natural symbol meanings (natural reality), 3 blank symbols, and 31 connotation meanings (having sense meanings). Third, the education strategy as well as a cultural propaganda media in the Lir-Ilir Song, namely: 1) With a cultural approach, Sunan Kalijaga invites people to embrace Islam as a new religion that came to Java around the 13-15 century AD; 2) Persuasively, Sunan Kalijaga made people aware of Islam by carrying out the five pillars of Islam while abandoning all beliefs and deeds prohibited by Islam; 3) With the metaphor of Blimbing fruit, Sunan Kalijaga assures people that whoever obeys the commands of Islam, will find peace and happiness in living in this world and the hereafter. Fourth, missionary preachers in various events use Tembang Lir-Ilir as a cultural-based propaganda media that remains popular in the millennial era.

Abstract

Abstract: Implications of Academic Supervision of Head of Madrasah in Improving Professional Islamic Religious Education Teachers (Case Study at MAN 1 Polewali Mandar)This study aims to describe and analyze the implications of the academic supervision of the madrasah principal on improving the professionalism of PAI teachers at MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study. The object of this research is the supervision program. In this study, data was obtained from the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa in the field of curriculum, and Islamic religious education teachers using data collection techniques, namely in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis efforts are carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data. The effort to check the validity of the data is done by using a triangulation technique. The results of the study found that: (1) Through the academic supervision program by the madrasah principal, it shows positive and significant things in improving teacher professionalism to assist teachers in developing their competence in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. (2) The existence of teacher work motivation by the madrasah principal becomes the teacher's strength to have a strong desire to carry out work with high enthusiasm, so the effort to improve teacher professional competence is to increase teacher work motivation so as to improve teacher professional competence. (3) Through an academic supervision program by the head of the madrasah, teachers are made more professional at teaching, so that students are enthusiastic about taking part in learning because of the teacher's ability to master learning materials and be able to liven up the learning atmosphere. Teachers who have professional competence will also have implications for student learning to achieve.Abstrak: Implikasi Supervisi Akademik Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Profesional Guru PAI (Studi Kasus di MAN 1 Polewali Mandar)Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implikasi supervisi akademik kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan profesional guru PAI di MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Adapun objek pada penelitian ini mengenai program supervisi. Dalam penelitian ini, data diperoleh dari kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah bidang kurikulum, dan guru pendidikan agama Islam dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Upaya analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan memverifikasi data. Adapun upaya untuk mengecek keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa: (1) Melalui program supervisi akademik oleh kepala madrasah menunjukkan hal positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan profesional guru untuk membantu guru dalam mengembangkan kompetensinya dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran; (2) Adanya motivasi dari kepala madrasah menjadi kekuatan guru untuk memiliki keinginan yang kuat dalam melaksanakan pekerjaan dengan semangat yang tinggi, maka upaya meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru adalah meningkatkan motivasi kerja guru sehingga mampu meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru. (3) Melalui program supervisi akademik oleh kepala madrasah, guru lebih profesional dalam mengajar sehingga peserta didik antusias untuk mengikuti pembelajaran karena kemampuan guru dalam menguasai materi pembelajaran dan mampu menghidupkan suasana belajar guru yang memiliki kompetensi profesional.

Abstract

The study aimed to know: 1) the effect of emotional intelligence on aggressive behavior, 2) the effect of self-control on aggressive behavior, 3) the influence of emotional intelligence on Islamic education’s learning achievement, 4) the effect of self-control on Islamic education’s learning achievement, 5) the influence of behavior aggressive towards Islamic education’s learning achievement, 6) the influence of emotional intelligence on Islamic education’s learning achievement through aggressive behavior, 7) the effect of self-control on Islamic education’s learning achievement through aggressive behavior. This study used quantitative approach with the correlational method. Data was collected using a questionnaire to measure emotional intelligence, self-control, and aggressive behavior. Meanwhile, the researcher used the documentation of the final score of the report to measure the Islamic education’s learning achievement of students. The sample was 100 respondents. The data analysis technique used the Partial Least Square (PLS) test with smartPLS software. The results showed that: (1) significant negative effect of emotional intelligence on students' aggressive behavior (p-value 0.001 <0.05). (2) significant negative effect of self-control on students' aggressive behavior (p-value 0.000 <0.05). (3) significant positive effect of emotional intelligence on students' learning achievement (p-value 0.030 <0.05). (4) significant positive effect of self-control on students' learning achievement (p-value 0.037 <0.05). (5) significant negative effect of aggressive behavior on students' learning achievement (p-value 0.004 <0.05). (6) significant indirect effect of emotional intelligence on learning achievement through student aggressive behavior (p-value 0.028 <0.05). (7) significant indirect effect of self-control on learning achievement through student aggressive behavior (p-value 0.011 <0.05).

Abstract

Education funding is a fundamental factor in the implementation of education because it is related to the use of the budget or operational financing as a whole. In financing Islamic education, an even and balanced concept is needed which must be considered in managing the budget. This research aims to analyze the concept of management and utilization of the Islamic education financing budget at Al Maarif 01 Singgosari Islamic Elementary School, Malang district. The approach uses descriptive qualitative data collection techniques in the form of field observations, interviews, and documentation related to the administration of management and utilization of the budget in the education unit. The research results show that the management and utilization of the education budget have been adjusted to the technical guidelines (JUKNIS) that have been set. Management of the education budget at Al Maarif 01 Singgosari Islamic Elementary School has been carried out by the concept of Islamic education financing management which begins with financial planning (budgeting) through a financial budgeting process that is carried out the stages in a systematic manner and considers balance and equity in the aspects subject to the budget. The process of financial oversight begins with compiling a RAPBS that has been adapted to the needs of the school. Supporting and inhibiting factors in managing Islamic education financing at Al Maarif 01 Singosari Islamic Elementary School, namely: (1) The school has the right to arrange operational and non-operational financing according to needs, (2) Everything related to reporting is the personal responsibility of the financial manager ( school treasurers) and school principals who are assisted by operators (3) utilization of funding sources from the government in the form of BOS (School Operational Assistance) and BOSDA (Regional School Operational Assistance) is still not optimal and evenly distributed because the disbursement of funds within three months and less on time and (4) committee contributions in the form of tuition fees are still not current so parents need to be more aware of and play a role in financing education.   Keywords: Management, Budget, Islamic Education

Abstract

This research is based on the issue of how to improve students' engagement in the learning process by using audiovisual media on the subject of Asmaul Husna in the fourth-grade class at SD Negeri 1 Ngasem, Ngajum District. The objective of this research is to determine the improvement of students' engagement in the learning process by using audiovisual media on the subject of Asmaul Husna in the fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Ngasem. This research employs a classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The target of this research is the fourth-grade students in the academic year 2022-2023. The data obtained include observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The analysis results indicate that students' learning engagement has improved from Cycle I to Cycle II. In the pre-cycle, students' learning engagement reached 62.5% in the moderate category. In Cycle I, the percentage of students' learning engagement was only 25% in the high category. The teacher made improvements in Cycle II, resulting in an increase to 75% in the high category. The conclusion of this research is that the use of audiovisual media can enhance the learning engagement of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Ngasem, and this audiovisual media can be used as an alternative for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Abstrak proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media audio visual pada materi asmaul husna kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ngasem Kec.Ngajum. Sedangkan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media audio visual pada materi asmaul husna pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ngasem. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, refleksi. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV Tahun pelajaran 2022-2023. Data yang diperoleh berupa lembar observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil analisa didapatkan bahwa keaktifan belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sampai siklus II yaitu, pada pra siklus keaktifan belajar siswa mencapai 62,5% pada kategori sedang, pada siklus I persentase keaktifan belajar siswa hanya sebesar 25% pada kategori tinggi, kemudian guru melakukan perbaikan pada siklus II sehingga meningkat menjadi 75% dengan kategori tinggi. Simpulan dari penelitian ini penggunaan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Ngasem serta media audio visual ini dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran PAI.
