Abstract

Provision of Rice Husk Ash and Rice Straw for Growth of Sweet Corn (Zea Mays L) in Ultisol Land in Rantau Selatan District Labuhan Batu District aims to determine the effect of various types of rice husk ash and rice straw for growth and nutrient uptake of Sweet Corn experimental methods. The method used in this study was compiled in a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. Treatment I: Giving rice husk ash (M) with 4 dose levels (g / 5 kg BTKO), namely: M0 (0), M1 (10 ), M2 (20) and M3 (30) and Treatment II: Giving rice straw (K) compost with 4 dose levels (g / 5 kg BTKO), namely: K0 (0), K1 (25), K2 (50), K3 (75). The data obtained were statistically analyzed based on analysis of variance on each observed variable that was measured and tested further for real treatment using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The parameters measured consist of. Plant height (cm), Plant Dry Weight, Plant U uptake, Plant U Uptake. The results of this study indicate that the administration of rice straw compost has a significant effect in increasing plant height, plant dry weight, N uptake and P uptake while rice husk ash has a significant effect in increasing plant N uptake but has no significant effect in increasing plant height, plant dry weight and P uptake of plants. Keywords: husk ash, rice straw, growth, nutrient uptake, corn, Rantau selatan

Abstract

Rainfed rice fields are paddy fields whose water sources depend on rainfall without permanent irrigation structures. This study aimed to identify fertility variables that are obstacles in Beringin Subdistrict by evaluating soil fertility status and reviewing management alternatives that are in accordance with the soil fertility status found in rainfed lowland rice fields in several villages in Beringin Subdistrict, Deli Serdang District.This research was a phenomenological qualitative descriptive study with land survey and supported by qualitative laboratory analysis. The taking of soil samples was carried out in the survey area sequentially based on the location of the estimated nature of the soil with the purposive random sampling method. The taking of soil samples was taken in the upper layer at the top soil depth of 0-20 cm, and the coordinates of the point were recorded using GPS.The fertility status of paddy fields in BeringinSubdistrict was classified as high, medium, and low soil fertility status. High soil fertility in P-total soil parameters in all villages, for medium land in K2O parameters in all villages, while for low land status in N-total land parameters in all villages. Prompts for giving urea fertilizer without organic matter as much as 250 kg ha-1, with 5 tons of straw ha-1 adding urea fertilizer as much as 230 kg ha-1 and using 2 tons of manure ha-1 giving urea fertilizer as much as 225 kg ha-1.P fertilization in medium status paddy fields is 75 kg SP-36 ha-1, and high P fertility status is 50 kg ha-1SP-36. K fertilizer application for high soil fertility status is 50 kg ha-1. Prompts for organic fertilizer using compost of rice straw equal to 5 tons ha-1 and or manure 2 tons ha-1. Abstract

Fragrant lemongrass (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) is one of the volatile oil-producing plants With high economic value, about 80% of citronella oil produced by Indonesia is exported to various countries. Citronella oil is multi-useful in the pharmaceutical industry and in the perfume industry as a fragrance in various perfumed oil products. This study aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil in the field of citronella farmer group, Sidorukun Village, to determine the citronellal content, oil content and specific gravity of citronella oil meet the requirements set out in the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). And the hedonic test to find out the community's response to citronella oil. This research was carried out from March 2021 to May 2021. The results of the analysis of chemical properties in 2 different locations showed that low soil chemical properties affected the growth and yield of citronella. The analysis of citronella oil showed that the citronella content, oil content and specific gravity of citronella oil (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) produced by the Karyatani Farmers' Group in Sidorukun Village were 41.32%, 0.87% and 0.8881, respectively. This shows that the citronellal content of min 35%, oil content of 0.60% and specific gravity of 0.880-0.922 has met SNI 06-3953-1995, the duration of distillation is an important factor for the high yield of citronellal content, oil content and specific gravity. The hedonic test showed that the color of citronella oil was very liked by the panelists, as well as the smell of citronella oil, the panelists liked it and the taste of citronella oil when applied to the panelists' skin, they liked it and some thought it was normal.Key words: Essential Oils, Citronella, Soil Chemical Properties, Hedonic Test

Abstract

Efforts to increase the production of chilli plants are still experiencing obstacles. One of the diseases caused by fungi is fusarium wilt disease caused by Fusarium sp. The existence of this fungus attack makes one of the limiting factors that cause a decrease in red chili production. Local microorganism (MOL) solution is a fermented solution made from various local available resources. MOL solution contains micro and macro nutrients and also contains bacteria that have the potential to remodel organic matter, stimulate growth, and as a controlling agent for pests and plant diseases, so that MOL can be used both as a decomposer, biological fertilizer and as an organic pesticide, especially as a fungicide.In this research, bacterial isolation from MOL bamboo shoots will be carried out and then tested the isolates on Fusarium sp. The data of this research were analyzed descriptive. The results of isolation from bamboo shoot MOL which has been fermented for use as POC, obtained 8 bacterial isolates with different macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. All obtained bacterial isolates have the potential to inhibit the growth of fusarium fungal colonies. The most potential bacterial isolate was M6 isolate with a diameter of a pathogenic fungal colony that grew only by 2.1 cm. Keywords: Fusarium sp., Local Microorganisms, Bamboo Shoots

Abstract

The decline in productivity of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the horticultural crops that are consumed by many Indonesian people, therefore it is necessary to provide potassium elements on the onion crop. Where potassium in plants is very important, it plays a role as a factor in the enzymes in the process of plant metabolism, stomata regulation, and CO assimilation. Meanwhile, if the lack of potassium causes small tubers so that production decreases. This study aims to determine the response of growth and yield of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) to several varieties and dosages of KCL fertilizer. This research was conducted in the experimental area of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Labuhabatu University, South Rantau District with a height of 13 meters above sea level. The materials used in this study were Sumenep and Maja Cipanas Shallot Seed Varieties, Urea Fertilizer, TSP and KCl. The tools used in this study are the Global Positioning System (GPS), hoe, fat, meter, sample traces, scales, ovens and stationery that support this research. This research uses factorial randomized block design with 2 factors and 3 replications, namely: Factor 1: V1 = Variety of Sumenep and V2 = Maja Cipanas and Factor 2 of fertilizer dose P0 ,, Control, P1 = 50 gram / plot, P2 = 100 gram / plot, P3 = 150 gram / plot). The parameters observed were sample wet weight, plot dry weight, and the number of plot production. Research Results Showing the dosage treatment gave an effect on the growth and production of shallots with the best dose of 150 grams/plot. An interaction occurred between KCL fertilizer dosage and onion varieties on plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers, wet weight, number of production and dry weight of onion plants. Keywords: Shallot, KCL Fertilizer, Production Results, Rantau Selatan District

Abstract

Land evaluation is useful as a basis for sector development in an area that is useful for reorganizing existing land use so as to assist in making land use planning decisions. Peanuts have great potential to be cultivated and developed commercially because they have wide adaptability, high productivity, are resistant to plant pests and are more resistant to marginal conditions. This research is descriptive with survey methods. The sampling method used is based on land map units with a free grid system for data. climates classified by climate type Schimdt and Ferguson. Land evaluation was carried out using the matching method by matching and comparing land characteristics with land suitability class criteria so that to obtain land suitability classes for peanut plants in Rantau Selatan District, Labuhanbatu Regency, there were 6 sample points so that the determination of soil characteristics values for soil samples was carried out using a soil drill tool. at a depth of 0-60 cm. Research results for peanut plants in Pardamean Village, Rantau Selatan District according to marginal / S3. Land suitability for peanut plants cultivated in Rantau Selatan District Labuhanbatu Regency 2.017 ha. Abstract

The Karya Bakti farmer group is one of the farmer groups in the Tebing Tinggi, rankan subdistrict, Labuhanbatu Regency. Village waste compost containing various organic elements that can be used as a substitute for chemical fertilizers. The purpose of this service activity is to increase understanding and knowledge about organic farming systems by applying solid organic fertilizer to pakcoy plants and how to make organic waste compost. Carried out through socialization, and training related to the application of compost to pakcoy and the manufacture of village waste compost. The demonstration plot was focused on the correct workings and techniques in supporting the production of pakcoy through the application of organic waste compost. The production of pakcoy cultivation has been succesful even thoug it has not involved all members of the farmer group. Knowledge and skills of farmers have increased regarding the cultivation of pakcoy plants and processing of village waste into solid organic fertilizer and its application to pakcoy plants. The introduction of organic waste compost in pakcoy cultivation received a positive response from some members of the Karya Bakti farmer’s group and farmers have understood the procedures for processing village waste into solid organic fertilizer (compost) and its application to pakcoy plants.

Abstract

The population of cattle in the village of cliffs of high rank has enormous potential. This capacity is very good if used in the manufacture of organic fertilizer because in general cow dung waste has not been processed and utilized properly by the people of the village of cliffs of high rank. Agricultural activities of the high-ranking cliff village community which continuously result in the use of chemical fertilizers continue to increase, thus the use of organic fertilizers is an alternative in reducing community dependence in using chemical fertilizers in agriculture. The objectives of this community service are, 1) to carry out socialization and training to the community, 2) to understand more about the manufacturing procedure, the tools used, the materials used, how to use them on plants, and the benefits of manure. cows as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. The results of this dedication show that the manufacture of organic fertilizer requires the addition of materials, namely sawdust, rice water, coconut water, and brown sugar solution with the aim of increasing the nutrients of organic fertilizer. The application of organic fertilizers on agricultural land can reduce the manufacture of chemical fertilizers, but can improve the nutrients in the soil. Abundant cow dung is a great result for fixing nutrients in soils that are already highly dependent on chemical fertilizers. Therefore, the manufacture of organic fertilizers needs to be continuously disseminated to the community, especially farmers in rural areas who lack information and technology. This is possible through activities, knowledge and training. This service program is carried out using two methods, namely: face-to-face socialization, the practice of making organic fertilizers.

Abstract

The effect of the dosage of NPK Phonska 15-15-15 on the superior eggplant (Solanum Melongena L). This research was conducted at the Mangga Bawah Junction in the Desert. This research will be carried out from April to June 2020. The method used is the average height of the eggplant plants in NPK Phonska 15-15-15 fertilizer treatment. It can be seen that the highest value and the lowest value for eggplant plants aged 5 weeks is the highest value at P2 of 56 cm and the lowest value at P0 is 35 cm. The average of the number of branches of eggplant in NPK Phonska 15-15-15 treatment can be seen the highest value and the lowest value in the 5 week old eggplant plant, namely the highest value at P3 of 6 stalks and the lowest value at P0 of 1 stalk. The average weight of the eggplant plant showed that the results of the average difference test from the height of the eggplant plant in the NPK Phonska 15-15-15 treatment can be seen that the highest value and the lowest value in the eggplant plant were the highest value at P3 of 4.20 cm and the value the lowest at P0 of 1.30cm Key words: NPK Phonska 15-15-15, Solanum melongena L.
