Abstract

ABSTRACTForeign Plants Invasive (Invasive Species) have the ability to grow and develop very quickly in an ecosystem so that they can cause environmental damage. The purpose of this research is to find out the structure and composition of weed plants in the area of Mount Sibuatan, Nagalingga Village, Brand District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra, using the checkered line method with 10 x 10 m in size plot which is placed by purposive sampling. Based on the research that has been carried out, it was obtained 20 families of 34 species with 452 individuals that divided into three levels of vegetation, namely trees, sapling and basic vegetation. The dominant families found consisted of the Asterceae and Euphorbiaceae families with 64.12% and 76.43% of percentage, the co-dominant families were the Poaceae and Rosaceae families with 17.06 and 16.20% of percentage. The highest Importance Value Index (INP) of the area is the species of Austroeupatorium inulifolium (Kunth) R.M.King & H. Rob with a value of 92.37. The invasive plants diversity index has moderate abundance of plant diversity. The spread patterns of invasive plants are include into the category of groups.

Abstract

Climbing plants or what is known as Liana is a type of plant that is characteristic of tropical rainforest ecosystems. This study aims to determine the types of lianas, diversity index and wealth index, the method used is descriptive survey method with the sampling technique using the quadratic method, the number of plots used is 24 plots in three transects. Found 12 families consisting of 27 species of lianas with a total number of 1082 individuals. The family with the most species is the Araceae family with 5 species, the families with the least species are Dioscoreaceae, Polypodiaceae, Rosaceae, and Vitaceae, each of which has only one species, the species with the highest number of individuals ishighest number of individuals. Ficus villosa Blume with a total of 182 and species with thethe least amount is Alstonia sp, namely 14 individuals. The species with the highest Importance Value Index (IVI) was Entada spiralis Ridl with a value of 54.84. Liana Diversity Index in Batang Gadis Resort 7 National Park is H '3.14 which is included in the high diversity category, one of the factors that resulted in the high diversity value of lianas in BGNP is the availability of many trees as host plants for habitus liana, while the wealth index value of lianas in Batang Gadis Resort 7 National Park is 3.47 which is included in the medium wealth category, one of the factors causing the wealth index value to be included in the moderate category is the number of species found as many as 27 species.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types, diversity, and distribution patterns of herbaceous plants based on variations in height. The method used is the survey method with the squared plot technique by purposive sampling at two heights of 1,009 masl and 1,144 masl with a plot size of 5 x 5 meters. The results showed that the herbaceous plants found at an altitude of 1,009 meters above sea level, namely 22 species with 14 families, the most species at an altitude of 1,009 meters above sea level were Impatiens sp., while the herbaceous plants found at an altitude of 1,144 meters above sea level, namely 15 species with 9 families, the most species at an altitude of 1,144 meters above sea level, namely Selaginella subalpine Aldrew. The diversity of herbaceous plants seen from the IVI value. The IVI value obtained at an altitude of 1,009 masl is found in Taenitis blechnoides Sw. of 36.268. At an altitude of 1,144 masl there is the highest IVI value, namely Selaginella subalpina Aldrew. of 48,400. The diversity index at an altitude of 1,009 masl was 2.313 while the diversity index at an altitude of 1,144 masl was 2,200. From the diversity index data for herbaceous plants, the diversity index was moderate. The distribution pattern of plants at an altitude of 1,009 masl is 2.66 and the pattern of distribution of herbaceous plants at an altitude of 1,114 masl is 2.89. The conclusion of the research is that the diversity of herbaceous plants in Batang Gadis Resort 6 National Park is classified as moderate, while the distribution of herbaceous plants found in Batang Gadis Resort 6 National Park is in groups.
