Abstract

Abstract. Since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in March 2019, online lectures or online learning modes have been established by the government through the Directorate General of Higher Education Circular Number 1 of 2020 concerning Prevention of the Spread of Covid-19 as a learning system that must be used at all levels of education units, including universities. The implementation of online lectures at universities not only raises positive opinions, but also negative perceptions of students, as reflected in student opinions whose opinions are presented in the online media news portal room. This study aims to analyze the negative views of students whose sources are extracted from opinion texts on the sample online media news portal page. This qualitative study with descriptive-interpretative analysis method seeks to analyze student opinion texts at the level of their perception, attention, interpretation, and response to the online lectures they have been attending. Abstract

Kajian ini membahas tiga tema penting yang mendasari konsep utama dalam studi ilmu politik, yakni modernisasi politik, pembangunan politik, dan demokrasi. Dalam berbagai literatur ilmu politik, ketiga tema ini selalu mendapat porsi bahasan penting dari para ahli ilmu politik untuk menganalisis isu budaya politik, watak kekuasaan, proses pelembagaan politik, partai politik, birokrasi, institusi demokrasi (parlemen) atau institusi peradilan serta tema-tema yang lebih kontemporer semisal dinamika pemilu, kelompok kepentingan atau kelompok penekan, perilaku pemilih, atau peran politik media massa. Kajian kini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode analisis deskriptif berbasis data studi pustaka. Studi ini berkesimpulan, bahwa rasionalitas politik, kapasitas sistem, dan kesiapan transformasi budaya politik warga tidak cukup efektif menjadi prasyarat modernisasi dan pembangunan politik, tanpa dibarengi kesadaran, pengetahuan, kemampuan adaptasi, dan akseptabilas elite politik dan warga negara dalam menerima berbagai bentuk perubahan sebagai konsekuensi modernisasi politik. Perangkat demokrasi lokal juga akan sulit bekerja efektif jika modernisasi politik gagal dalam mengadaptasi kearifan lokal dan budaya politik ‘gaya Asia’ yang masih eksis dari bangsa bersangkutan. Kata kunci: Modernisasi politik, pembangunan politik, demokrasi.

Abstract

The modernization of city life has triggered anxiety among urban muslims regarding the future of their children’s education. This condition was triggered by a shift in the orientation of general education which provides a smaller portion of children’s moral-religious education material. Urban muslims (especially the upper middle class) ultimately see Islamic boarding schools, madrasas, and modern Islamic schools (integrative curriculum-based or Integrated Islamic Schools/IIS)—which provide a larger portion of moral-religious material—as alternative schools for their children. their child. This qualitative study using Max Weber’s social action theory approach and literature review analysis method tries to analyze the factors behind upper-middle class urban parents choosing Integrated Islamic Schools (IIS) as a place to study for their children. This study concluded that internal factors (the importance of inheriting religious values), external factors (the influence of an increasingly religious social and family environment), and performance factors (parents’ personal motives) were the three main factors that became dominant motives.
