Abstract

The research was  carried out using  this type of research policy (policy research) that the conduct of research or analysis of a social problem in order to help policy makers  by presenting  recommendations that  are  pragmatic,  action-oriented  to address the problem. While the  level of  explanative  research  is done using  the descriptive research study of  independent variables, without making comparisons or connect with other variables. The theory  is used  to compare how much  fact  is found has relevance to the theory.  The results showed that  the  substance of  the New Town development  Lampung Lampung  Provincial  Government  as  possible  the  impact of  both positive and negative  socio-cultural   change  is very significant.  Some of the  positive and negative impacts of development policies Kota Baru  Lampung  to  socio-cultural changes  consist of  changes in  employment,  the demand  for building  urban-rural linkages, demand for quality education and health, tradition and social conditions, behaviors and  patterns of  public relations,  compliance  settlements  ,  and the displacement of workers ex-New Town construction site.
