Abstract

As mathematic teacher, we should be able to create an interesting and active learning, beside that she should be able to create a good competition in the class. It has positive effect to gain optimum study result. Teacher should use variation method and learning strategy in learning so that teaching and learning become easy and fun for the student. The student will be more active and have motivation to study. The implementation of REACT strategy for student of XI TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Painan is suitable to improve students activity in learning. The research is classroom action research which consist of two cycles, each cycles involve four stages : (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting. The sample of the research are 34 student. The data is collected by using observation paper. The analysis of data is done by using descriptive qualitative. The result of the students activity in asking question in cycle I is 43% and in cycle II is 54%. It means that the activity in asking question achieve avarage level. The activity in giving sugestion or giving opinion also get on avarage level in cycle 1 is 28% and in cycle II is 43%. The activity in group discussing get high level.It happened in cycle I anda cycle II .They have same percentage. It is 67% .

Abstract

Kita sebagai dosen matematika di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, harus bisa melahirkan calon-calon guru yang berkualitas dalam bidang matematika, harus mampu membuat mereka menjadi guru yang betul-betul menguasai matematika, sehingga ketika mereka menjadi guru mereka bisa mencetak siswa-siswa yang terampil matematika.Tapi kenyataan di lapangan, sering timbul kesulitan-kesulitan dalam proses belajar mengajar apalagi pada materi tentang sistem persamaan linier dimana mahasiswa harus dapat menyelesaikan sistem persamaan linier dengan menggunakan metode gauss jordan dimana dalam menyelesaikan metode ini mahasiswa harus memiliki trik-trik dalam menyelesaikan metode ini. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan mahasiswa semeter III atau BP 2018 Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Tamansiswa Padang dalam menyelesaikan sistem persamaan linier dengan menggunakan metode gauss jordan mata kuliah aljabar linier elementer. Kesalahan yang dilihat dari penelitian ini adalah kesalahan pemahaman, kesalahan proses penyelesaian dan kesalahan penerikan kesimpulan dari soal sistem persaman linier dengan menggunakan metode Gauss Jordan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III atau BP 2018 Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Tamansiswa yang terdaftar pada tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 sebanyak 6 orang. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa persentase mahasiswa yang melakukan kesalahan pemahaman dalam soal sistem persamaan linier dengan metode Gauss Jordan adalah 7,06%, kesalahan mahasiswa dalam proses penyelesaian adalah 63,57%, dan kesalahan mahasiswa dalam penarikan kesimpulan adalah 29,41%.Kata Kunci : Keselahan Mahasiswa, Metode Gauss Jordan

Abstract

One of factor that influence students achivement is the role of a teacher in the class. Teacher should be able to choose method of teaching appropriately so that it can makes the students understand the lesson fast, active in teaching and learning. In order to get a good result. Based on the observation of researcher in the SMKN 1 PAINAN, student’s ability in mathematic is low beside that, they were not interested in learning it. They were passive in the class so that the result is not good.It is important to solve the problem by doing a research. The purpose of the research is to know whether there is the influence of discovery learning model to the students’ achievement. This is an experiment research. The research used randomized control group only design. There are two classes in this research, experiment class and control class. Experiment class will be given a treatment by using discovery learning otherwise the other class will be given treatment by using convensional. Based on data analysis, it showed that score average of experiment class was 66.17, meanwhile score average of control class was 51.52. Based on the result we can conclude that teaching by using discovery learning was able to improve student achievement because in discovery learning the student find the concept by theirselves, so that it is easy for them to remember the material. They won’t be forget it easily
