Abstract

Abstrak Literasi digital dan teknologi digital telah merambah dunia pendidikan kita saat ini. Salah satu media digital berbasis internet yang popular sebagai alat pembelajaran adalah blog atau weblog. Blog memiliki nilai untuk dipergunakan sebagai media pendidikan karena dapat membawa pesan pendidikan. Saat ini banyak sekali guru dan pendidik yang telah memanfaatkan blog sebagai sumber informasi berupa lesson plan (rencana pengajaran), kurikulum, materi pengembangan profesi dosen. Diantara blog-blog tersebut adalah: http://librarygoddess.blogspot.com, http://www.educationlibrarian.com, http://edsourceonline.blogspot.com and so on. Blogs can do many things for education. Selain itu, blog-blog tersebut juga dimanfaatkan untuk penyebaran informasi, daftar link ke searching engine dan sumber belajar online, serta dipergunakan untuk mengevaluasi sumber-sumber referensi online. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut di atas, artikel ini akan mengevalusi penggunaan blog sebagai media pendidikan alternative di era digital. Serta akan memapalkan kelebihan dan kekurangan blog dan nilai penggunaan blog dalam pembelajaran aktif (active learning).

Abstract

AbstrakSemakin banyaknya pemukiman yang dibangun di bantaran sungai di Yogyakarta membuat sungai tercemar limbah rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas tanaman eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes), genjer (Limnocharis flava), dan semanggi (Marsilea crenata) sebagai fitoremediator dengan wetland system dalam pengolahan air limbah domestik. Tahap pelaksanaan penelitian fitoremediasi diawali dengan pengukuran parameter air limbah yaitu pH, suhu, DO, BOD, dan TDS. Setelah itu, dilakukan aklimatisasi tanaman pada reaktor yang berisi air dan wetland selama 1 minggu. Terdapat empat perlakuan (P1, P2, P3, dan P4) yang digunakan, yaitu P1: air limbah + wetland (sebagai kontrol), P2: air limbah + wetland + 1 eceng gondok, P3: air limbah + wetland + 1 genjer, P4: air limbah + wetland + 1 semanggi. Terdapat 2x pengulangan selama masa retensi 12 hari, 2 variasi pengenceran yaitu 10x dan 100x. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman genjer mampu meningkatkan kadar DO sebesar 50% dan menurunkan kadar BOD sebesar 78%, serta tanaman semanggi mampu menurunkan kadar TDS sebesar 41,4%. Angka ini mencerminkan bahwa penggunaan tanaman-tanaman tersebut memiliki potensi besar dalam membantu pemurnian air.Abstract The increasing number of settlements built along the river banks in Yogyakarta resulted in household waste entering the river. This study aims at determining the effectiveness of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), genjer (Limnocharis flava), and clover (Marsilea crenata) as phytoremediators, in a wetland system. Firstly, wastewater parameters such as pH, temperature, DO, BOD, and TDS are measured. After that, plants were acclimatized in the reactors containing water and substrate derived from a wetland for 7 days. There were four treatments applied in this research (P1, P2, P3, and P4), P1: wastewater + wetland (as control), P2: wastewater + wetland + 1 water hyacinth, P3: wastewater + wetland + 1 genjer, P4: wetland water + wetland + 1 clover. Each treatment was replicated twice during the 12 days retention period, and 2 variations of dilution of 10x and 100x. The results indicated that genjer plant was capable of increasing the DO level by 50% and lowering the BOD level by 78%, and the clover plant was able to decrease the TDS level by 41.4%. Those results reveal that the use of the plants has huge potential in helping water purification.

Abstract

Pada perkembangan era informasi saat ini, terdapat kecenderungan di dalam masyarakat yang membutuhkan media berbasis elektronik terutama dalam dunia pendidikan. Perlunya media pendukung pembelajaran khususnya biologi untuk pendidikan biodiversitas di Indonesia dalam pembelajaran di sekolah. Sebagai negara yang dinobatkan sebagai kawasan megabiodiversitas, Indonesia memiliki peluang dan tantangan untuk memberikan pendidikan biodiversitas sebagai salah satu upaya konservasi dan perlindungan terhadap kekayaan hayati Indonesia. Pendidikan biodiversitas di jenjang formal sangat terikat dengan standar proses yang tertera dalam kurikulum, pada Kompetensi Dasar pendidikan materi keanekaragaman hayati mengandung makna yang mendalam yaitu sebuah upaya penyelamatan keanekaragaman hayati yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia. Paper ini berupaya untuk menganalisis peluang dan tantangan untuk pendidikan biodiversitas di Indonesia, dilihat dari kebijakan kurikulum, dan sarana dan sarana yang tersedia di sekolah serta kondisi kesiapan sekolah dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan ini.

Abstract

Bleberan Village has ecotourism potential in terms of insects biodiversity. Moreover, this village has some beautiful tourism objects, such as Sri Gethuk waterfall and Rancang Kencono cave. In the other hand, biodiversity in this village is yet to be explored, hence this research aims at studying insects biodiversity, especially of  three orders: Orthoptera, Lepidoptera and Odonata. The final objective of this reseach is to provide information for studying and conserving biodiversity in this ecotourism region. The observation was conducted in 10 stations in both Kedung Poh (1st location) and Oyo River (2nd location ). Several ecological parameters were calculated such as density, diversity index, and distribution. In addition, enviromental parameters were also measured, i.e temperature, humidity, and light intesity. This research found 17 species of each order, with the highest number of individuals was observed in the member of Orthoptera, especially withPhlaeoba fumosa; 381 individuals (1st location 1) and  445 individuals (2nd location). In the order of Lepidoptera, species Catopsilia pomonahad the highest number of individuals, there were 31 and 46  individuals in 1st location and 2nd location, respectively. The latter is Odonata, had Orthetrum sabinawhich dominated the number with 252 individuals in 1st location and 188 individuals in 2nd location. This research also revealed that diversity index was varied between 0.79 and 0.99, with all orders were distributed in a clumped pattern. All the environmental factors had been observed and did not show any abnormality, therefore insects couldbe alive normally.

Abstract

This survey research was conducted to understand the difference and level of environmental awareness and knowledge on solid waste management dan vegetation re-planting of students from Eco-School (adiwiyata) and Non Eco-School (non-adiwiyata). The number of respondents was 198 students from two high Eco-Schools (SMA N 1 Pengasih and MAN 2 Wates) and two high Non Eco-Schools (SMA N 1 Girimulyo and SMA N 1 Wates). Sample was chosen by random sampling. Students were given a set of questionnaires, which consisted section A tested students awareness and section B tested students knowledge. The data were statistically analysed using Mann-Whitney and descriptive statistics. The results of Mann-Whitney showed that there are significant difference on environmental awareness and knowledge between student taught in Eco-School and student taught in Non Eco-School (Sig.< 0,05). Meanwhile, the level of environmental awareness and knowledge between student taught in Eco-School and student taught in Non Eco-School are in the same level. The level of environmental awareness between student Eco-School and Non Eco-School is in the same low level and the level of environmental knowledge between student Eco-School and Non Eco-School is in the same low level. Abstract

Assisted-reproductive technology (ART) has developed rapidly, and has brought controversies in terms of legality and ethics. Todays, majority of people rely on bioethics to address the issue. Yet, bioethics in its development, mostly is influenced by Western values such as autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice. Some communities, like Islam, need to respond the issue using “Islamic bioethics”. This paper explores how Muslims in Indonesia tackle the issue and set up “Islamic bioethical values” accordingly. Our literary research found that some individual interpretation and judgments (ijtihād) have been given both by Islamic organizations [Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI)] and outstanding ulama. Fatwas issued by the majorities indicate that although the methods of inquiries are different, the result is the same, that is rejecting the presence of a third party in the form of sperm, ovum, or uterus.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v24i1.2209

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Modul Ekosistem Berorientasi Kewirausahaan untuk SMA/MA Kelas X, dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul tersebut sebagai bahan ajar alternatif dalam proses pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D). Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan terdiri dari 3 tahap, yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), dan development (pengembangan). Hasil penelitian ini adalah produk berupa Modul Ekosistem Berorientasi Kewirausahaan untuk SMA/MA Kelas X. Berdasarkan penilaian para ahli, modul ini berkategori baik dengan persentase ideal sebesar 78,33%. Penilaian yang diberikan guru dan siswa masing-masing berkategori baik dan sangat baik dengan persentase ideal 75,33% dan 86,61%.

Abstract

This study mainly explored plants uses among East Sumba People and how they relate to conservation efforts, especially in several villages, including Lambanapu Village, Kampung Adat Wunga, Prailiu, and Praiyawang. The methods used in this study were combinations of field data collections, interviews, and observations. The findings showed that the traditional uses of plants fall into five use-categories: plants for weaving tenun ikat, building traditional houses, food sources, medicines, and rituals. Local people performed conservation efforts by planting the necessary plants in their garden, protecting local forests, and only using plants/trees which are ready to be harvested. In some occasions, rituals were also performed before harvesting the plants. The traditions showed that Sumba people respect the supernatural beings and the harmony between nature and human.

Abstract

Literasi digital telah memasuki kelas dan pengajaran di sekolah. Salah satu media berbasis internet yang mulai dilirik sebagai media pembelajaran sains di level pendidikan dasar adalah blog atau weblog. Blog memiliki berbagai manfaat diantaranya bagi guru sebagai tempat berbagi lesson plan, link ke sumber-sumber online dan search engines, menyebarluaskan informasi dan berkomunikasi sesama guru. Bagi siswa blog dapat memberikan kemudahan berkomunikasi secara online dan melatih siswa untuk berinteraksi sosial dengan lebih mandiri dan percaya diri. Blog juga menyediakan ruang pencarian informasi yang bermanfaat bagi siswa SD/MI untuk memahami konsep sains secara mandiri.Beberapa sekolah dan guru di Amerika telah menggunakan blog sebagai media pendidikan. Kebanyakan menggunakan blog sebagai sumber infomasi, mencari lesson plan, dan kurikulum. Contoh dari blog-blog yang bermanfaat di dunia pendidikan diantaranya http://librarygoddess. blogspot.com, http:// www.educationlibrarian.com, http://edsourceonline. blogspot.com, dan lainlain. Dengan melihat manfaat dan kelebihan blog, artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penggunaan blog sebagai media pembelajaran bagi siswa SD/MI. Dengan eksplorasi tersebut diharapkan lebih banyak guru dan peserta didik yang dapat mengembangkan technology fluencynya melalui blog.
