Abstract

Abstract

The government made an effort to solve the problem by proclaiming moral decadence "Character Education" in every level of education. Character education is a holistic educational process that connects the moral dimension to the social realm in the students life as the foundation to establish quality generations who are Able to Live Independently and have the truth principle that can be accounted for. Character is a "behavior" not a 'knowledge'. So, in the practice of character education requires not only the theory or the concept its self, but Also the direct models of the teacher. Therefore, it can be internalized by the students well Because it is not only taught but Also exemplified. The implementation of character education in schools is more accurate through modeling approaches, modeling (uswah) conducted by the teacher. Teacher's exemplary is needs to be created Because a teacher is a central figure in the school that the students' attention always for them. Teachers should really be an example not only the conveyor of science information, but Also includes transfer's activity of virtuous noble character personality in order to form student's character as a national asset that will be the determinant of the existence of this nation

Abstract

Currently, the English language introduction in elementary school, where subjects are not too needed for children, but for the author himself has a different opinion. For English writers need to be introduced to children. The introduction of English for children is certainly in a way that is different from secondary school children, such as JUNIOR and HIGH school. The introduction of English for children with the intent of not burdensome, does not make the child bored, packaged in the form of play while studying, or even the sense of not learning but play that gives them English skills. Singing, games, drawing, coloring, storytelling, and more are effective methods for introducing English to children.

Abstract

Speech Acts are the speaker’s utterances that convey meaning and make listeners do specific things; when saying a performative utterance, a speaker is simultaneously doing something. There are five types of Speech Act: Directive, Declaration, Commissive, Expressive, and Assertive. The design of this research was qualitative descriptive. This Research discussed about “Speech Acts Analysis of Dialogues in “English in Focus 2” Textbook”. Research problem in this study was: what are the types of Speech Acts in dialogues in the “English in Focus 2” Textbook? and the objective of this study was: to know about the types of Speech Acts which used in conversations in “English In Focus 2” Textbook. In this Textbook, the researcher found 4 dialogues that indicated Speech Acts. This textbook’s type of Speech Acts were Directive, Commissive, and Expressive.
