Abstract

This paper talk about literature in the mass media as popular culture. Initially as a literary culture that has experienced cultural values disappearance meanings of these values when it entered the mass media. Literature became a profitable commodity because has its own charm and interest in reaching its audience for the media. Commodification of culture has become the Frankfurt school of thought inheriting Marx long ago known as the neo-Marxian critical theory and political economy theory. The political economy of the media plays a major role in seeing the structure of the media and the content therein, including the commodification of literature in the mass media. Keywords: mass media, literature, political economy media, commodification

Abstract

The presence of new media changes major changes in people's lives. Mothers as family educators must have the knowledge and understanding of new media. In order to educate children and families in using new media well. This service activity is intended to provide knowledge about new media, specifically in the pattern of mother to child assistance and the media. The methods used are reflection, lectures, simulations, and discussions about new media. Participants who took part in this activity were PKK Mothers of Demen village aged 25-60 years. The results of this activity include 6 patterns used by mothers in assisting children and the media. The pattern is (1) Mothers must be able to argue and ask for information or content that can be paid by the child. (2) Set the time for children to use new media. (3) Using safe mode when the child is operating a smartphone, specifically for elementary school age children down. (4) Supervise and check the smartphone used by the child. (5) Inviting children to chat and discuss their daily activities after children, while also making family groups on Whatsapp as a family room to chat online. (6) Combine or report deceptive content and content that contains negative SARA issues. PKK Mothers who participated in this activity gave many positive responses and became more understanding in using new media when accompanying the child when using new media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss media convergence as the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This study uses a historical perspective which is the first media age with the broadcast pattern and the second media age with interactivity patterns. Results of research Broadcast media that use radio frequency transmission can now be accessed through an Internet connection as streaming media. In conclusion, the public can access radio and television through an internet connection and reduce the need for these devices, using an internet connection when it is available for the network to access broadcasts. Abstract

The mass media itself is referred to as "media" because of its nature as a medium / intermediary. For the discipline of Communication Science, the media (as a medium) is one of the factors forming the communication process. Whereas mass media, in general knowledge is more defined in institutions / organizations / media companies that produce information in the form of commodities traded, called mass media because the process seeks to direct the results of its production to the widest possible audience. Reality construction is the process by which mass media create information products before they are accepted by the public. Construction of reality is more defined as an effort to compile the reality of one or a number of events that were originally fragmented (random) to be systematic to form a meaningful story or discourse. This article attempts to read the process of constructing reality with the perspective of System Theory and Differentiation from Niklas Luhmann. Luhmann sees through these two perspectives that people get reality from the mass media as the second form of reality that occurs, because the first reality obtained by the mass media experiences the construction of reality when it enters the mass media area. The basis for the construction of reality in the mass media is the existence of self-references and other references present in the mass media system. The mass media system distinguishes self-references and other references in themselves in the form of the construction of reality or the results of information distributed to the public.

Abstract

Pendidikan untuk anak usia dini sangatlah penting, karena nantinya merekalah yang akan membawa Indonesia pada masa depan yang lebih gemilang. Salah satu pendidikan yang penting untuk diberikan sejak usia dini adalah pendidikan karakter, khususnya adalah penerapan Pancasila. Penerapan Pancasila terhadap anak usia dini dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bisa dilakukan dengan cara : mengajarkan anak untuk beribadah bersama (Sila Pertama), berkumpul bersama sanak saudara (Sila Kedua), bermain bersama (Sila Ketiga), berdiskusi bersama (Sila Keempat), serta berbagi dengan orang lain (Sila Kelima). Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan penerapan Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bagi anak usia dini. Metode pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metode bermain bersama, simulasi, dan diskusi perihal penerapan Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan berupa liputan berita di website kampus dan LLDikti, serta artikel pada jurnal nasional.
