Abstract

This study examinedthe effect of school accreditation, education budget, and teacher competence on the quality of high school graduates. The analysis method used was a panel regression through the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach, and the data were from 2017-2019. The results showed that school accreditation and education budgets had an effect on the quality of graduates. Also, the implication of this study is that schools need to increase accreditation, as well as the education budget. In terms of teacher competence, the teachers need to improve their competence by taking an active role in organizations, training teacher capacity, and mastery of information technology. Meanwhile, teacher competence has no effect on the quality of graduates in senior secondary schools. Simultaneously, all variables have a significant effect on the graduates quality. The limitation of this study is the data used, regardless of the status of private and public schools. Therefore, studies to compare private and public schools are of particular interest.

Abstract

This study examined and compared the efficiency level of conventional and Islamic rural banks. The analytical tool used was data envelopment analysis with the variable return scale approach. Furthermore, the input variables consist of total assets, third party funds, and costs. Meanwhile, the total financing and profit are the output variables from 2012 to 2019 for 15 rural banks in Aceh. The results showed conventional rural banks are more efficient than sharia. Therefore, Sharia banks need to engage in better socialization to the public. This is because 2021 is the beginning of qanun (law) of Islamic financial institutions enactment, which obliges change in shape to the sharia pattern. Also, universities are expected to open a study program on sharia bank as a rudiment for human resources in the future. Therefore, the study to compare conventional and sharia rural bank per province in Indonesia is important.

Abstract

Sharia-based insurance companies and businesses began to move faster in the last 10 years in Indonesia, along with the development of the sharia finance industry in general, such as sharia banks, sharia cooperatives and others. Since the establishment of this type of sharia insurance company in Indonesia at the end of 1994 with the product Takaful Family Insurance (life insurance). Sharia insurance has begun to be recognized by Muslim and non-Muslim communities to meet the need for insurance services that are increasingly felt by individuals and the business world in Indonesia. Insurance is a financial means in managing household life, both in facing the fundamental risks or in dealing with risks to the assets owned. The healthy impact of business and service companies such as sharia insurance is monitored by its financial performance. Either it is measured by Surplus On Contribution (SOC) or Return on Assets (ROA). This article tried to analyze the factors that affect the financial performance of Islamic Insurance companies in Indonesia, for the last 5 (five) years period, by including several positive and negative factors. The factors that the authors recommended in this analysis were Company size, Leverage, Liquidity, Tangibility, Volume of Capital, and Loss Ratio. The approach model for this analysis used a path model approach (Path Model's) with the assumption that each of the factors involved has a causal relationship with one another. So that the advantage of using this approach was its results will be able to give the direct or indirect effects of each factor on the financial performance to be analyzed.

Abstract

Comparison between sharia and conventional accounting is still a debate, especially at the practical and philosophical levels. This study uses a review of the literature to emphasize the differences between Islamic accounting and conventional accounting. The rapid growth of the Islamic finance industry causes conventional accounting practices to be insufficient to accommodate its unique characteristics. So from an examination of the literature, Islamic society clearly needs an accounting system that is in accordance with the ideology and values of Muslims. The findings of this study clearly describe the differences between Islamic accounting and conventional accounting, both in terms of philosophy and in practice. Thus strengthening the position of Islamic accounting as a science that is historically earlier than conventional accounting. Other findings from this study help break the obsession with the notion that Islamic accounting adopts conventional accounting.

The village fund has been rolled out since 2015 by the government of the Republic of Indonesia. The data used is panel data by combining time series data and panel data from 2015 to 2021. The result of this study showed that although village funds and village-owned enterprises do have effect in reducing the number of poor people in rural areas, however, the impact of village fund is more significant compared to village-owned enterprises. In this case relevant stakeholders should be able to increase the capacity of village fund managers through internship programs, mentoring and capacity building for managers. Multi-stakeholder cooperation is highly recommended in empowering village-owned enterprises as a source of village original income. The limitation of this study is it does not distinguish the type of business from each existing business owned by the village. Therefore, the future research needs to evaluate the type of business in a village-owned enterprise.
