Abstract

Ronald H. Cram said “the radical dialogue is an appropriate religious education model in pluralism context”. He contended that the radical dialogue consists of the hospitality principles that goes beyond tolerance. Unfortunately, his argumentations have not been based on the biblical tradition. In this paper, therefore, I would like to propose soteriology of the cross in Paul’s letters as a supporting tenet for implementing the radical dialogue in religious education, especially in Indonesian pluralism context. Based on the principles of soteriology of the cross in Paul’s letters, Christian comunity in Indonesia will be provoked to implement the radical dialogue. In order to clarify how the principles of soteriology of the cross are approprieated with the concept of the radical dialogue, I will delineate an Indonesian pluralism context succintly and an appropriate model of religious education in the context respectively.

Abstract

One of the critical problems in hermeneutic praxis is the tendency of emphasizing one part in a hermeneutical circle, namely context, text, or reader. Therefore we should take into account the whole part in an interdependence balance. Instead of emphasizing one of the part in the hermeneutic circle, this paper offers pilgrimage as a paradigm in interpreting the Bible so that the whole part in a hermeneutical circle can be put in an interdependence balance. The use of pilgrimage as a paradigm in the interpretation of the Bible should be understood as Groome has been doing by taking pilgrimage as a paradigm in his Shared Christian Praxis approach.

Abstract

This article focuses on the good works in receiving the salvation in Pauline Letters. It contains of debating on faith and the good works relationship in The New Perspectives on Paul. By exploring some themes relating to Paul’s concept of salvation in his Letters, namely: parousia, justification, and the resurrection, this article shows that the good works are essensial part in receiving God’s saving work. This conclusion is based on some texts in Pauline Letters that shows Paul’s exhortation that asked and urged Christians to do good works in order to welcome parousia.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas bagaimana tradisi pengajaran Paulus dalam Galatia 6:2 dapat menginspirasi gereja-gereja dalam melaksanakan pendidikan agama Kristen di tengah masyarakat majemuk di Indonesia, yang tengah menghadapi pandemi virus Corona. Dengan mengangkat ideologi imperialis sebagai latar belakang permasalahan yang tengah dihadapi oleh Paulus dan jemaat-jemaat di Galatia, serta hakikat dan tujuan Pendidikan Agama Kristen maka gereja-gereja dipanggil untuk memiliki kreativitas dalam menghadapi pandemi tersebut. Kreativitas yang dapat dikembangkan adalah menjadikan budaya gotong royong sebagai dialog yang membebaskan dan menyejahterakan. Kreativitas ini dapat muncul ketika masyarakat mampu diajak bersikap positif dalam menghadapi situasi sulit.
