Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase the English vocabulary of students with special needs. One of the online learning platforms use in this research is Kahoot!. The research subjects were SLB D YPAC Semarangstudents who were members of the Y-EClub Semarang. The research method used descriptive qualitative. The results of the research are the members of Y-Eclub SLB D YPAC Semarang using Kahoot! in learn English. They were able to catch the English vocabulary. Conclusion of this research is that Kahoot! as the internet-based platform is an effective medium in English teaching so that students could memorize English Vocabulary.

Abstract

The research aims to know-how is the implementation of the CLT method towards English vocabulary. The research objects are special needs students of English Club SLB-D YPAC Semarang. Researchers apply the Communicative Language Teaching method to the students via zoom application. The research objects are six students, applying six materials on seven meetings. The research method used in the research is a descriptive qualitative method. There are four stages of techniques that are used, those are the observation, planning, action, and reflection stages. The results of the study are the students can practice English actively, and gaining new vocabularies during the learning process.

Abstract

This research purpose is to enhance the English ability of Students with Special Needs in learning English vocabulary. The use of online learning media now was needed especially on distance learning in which Schooling from Home is the only choice during the pandemic era. The use of Kahoot! meet the needs of online teaching-learning activity. The research subjects were an English club in SLB D YPAC Semarang. The descriptive qualitative method was used in this research. The research result is the English ability enhancement in gaining the new vocabularies. The result is satisfying, students of SLB D YPAC Semarang were highly motivated in using Kahoot! Because they can directly see the winner podium. The final conclusion stated that utilizing Kahoot! Could enhance the English vocabulary for Students with Special Needs.
