Abstract

Introduction: The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is 305/100,000 live births, that one cause of this is preeclampsia/eclampsia. Lack of early detection of preeclampsia can cause late treatment. Every midwife who works in the community is assisted by Community Health Volunteers(CHV’s). Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the role of CHVs in the screening and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies at the community level in Cilacap District. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted through data collection using semi-structured in-depth interviews with 4 CHVs and 10 midwives at two Primary Health Centers in the Cilacap district, Central Java, Indonesia. The content analysis used Open Code software. Results: Four themes were identified in this study: 1) High workload of Midwives, 2) CHVs have easy access to mothers, 3) CHVs are accepted by the community, and 4) CHVs can monitor maternal health in the community. Besides their main tasks, village midwives in Indonesia also provide many programs at Primary Health Centers.

Abstract

Major causes of neonatal mortality include 29% premature infants, sepsis and 25% pneumonia, and 23% are newborns withasphyxia and trauma. Birth asphyxia occupies the third leading cause of infant death in the world in the early period of life. Theincidence of asphyxia at provincial referral hospitals in Indonesia of asphyxia deaths was 41.94%. Research objective to determinethe relationship between prematurity, Low Birth Weight, type of labor and congenital abnormalities with asphyxia. The researchmethods is a case-control with retrospective approach will be compared the possible factors causing asphyxia. The first stage ofanalyze data is to perform descriptive of characteristic asphyxia based on prematurity, LBW, type of labor, and congenitalabnormalities. The second stage is to analyze the correlation between prematurity, LBW, type of labor and congenital abnormalitieswith asphyxia by Chi-Square. The results showed that most of the asphyxia occurrence occurred in infants with mature age (59.2%),spontaneous labor (53.0%), normal birth weight (71.4%) and no abnormalities congenital (99%). Based on the result of analysisfound that there is a significant relationship between prematurity, type of labor, LBW with asphyxia and no relationship betweencongenital aberration with asphyxia occurrence.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. Research on the characteristics of mothers who are at risk for preeclampsia at the first pregnancy visit is important to prevent the incidence of preeclampsia. This study aims to determine the incidence of preeclampsia based on maternal characteristics. A cohort study design was used to determine the effect of maternal characteristics on the incidence of preeclampsia Sample was pregnant women who made their first pregnancy visit. The analysis was chi-square. The results showed that the factors that were significantly associated with the occurrence of preeclampsia were: primigravida (P-value: 0.00), family history of preeclampsia (P-value: 0.00), occupation (P-value:0.04), and insurance ownership (P-value:0.03). A risk assessment of preeclampsia in pregnant women can be carried out at the time of the first antenatal visit.

Abstract

Indonesian maternal mortality in 2012, 32.5% was caused by hypertension, preeclampsia, and eclampsia, while 24.22% in 2015 and 26% in 2016. Currently, there is no method of screening for preeclampsia based on maternal characteristics that were carried out during the first visit antenatal. The use of technology has great potential to improve health care at the community, especially in low-middle income countries. It is necessary to make a breakthrough in the form of developing a screening model for preeclampsia by utilizing information technology. This study aims to determine the detection rate of the application of preeclampsia.com as a community-based preeclampsia screening tool. This study was conducted by cohort study  on 549 pregnant women who had their first antenatal visit before 16 weeks followed up to delivery. Data analysis was data of factors for the occurrence of preeclampsia using Chi square, while to determine the strength of the “Preeclampsia.com” model as a screening method and early detection of preeclampsia using multilevel logistic regression,  analysis performed using SPSS version 23.0. The results of the analysis showed that the sensitivity value of the "Preeclampsia.com" application was 64.1% and the specificity value was 85.5% (95% CI). The Positive Predictive Value (PPV) from the "preeclampsia.com" application is 25.3% and the Negative Predictive Value (NPV) from the "preeclampsia.com" application is 96.9%. Based on the results of multilevel logistic regression analysis, it was found that the ability of the model to predict the incidence of preeclampsia was 96.4%. The use of the Preeclampsia.com application is quite good for community-based preeclampsia screening

Stunting news in Indonesia ranks fifth in the world. Approximately 5 million of the 12 million boys (38.6%) in Indonesia have a height below the average boys' height in the world. Stunting prevention with monitoring of growth and development, improvement of nutrition and empowerment of the community can be done from the level of basic health care named integrated healthcare center, therefore integrated healthcare center’s (Posyandu) Commnuty Health Volunteers  should be well trained and knowledgeable because they will perform early detection of the development and growth of the child. The source of cadres spread throughout the village can be a force in stunting prevention and treatment programmes. Efforts to enhance the knowledge and skills of the cadres in stunting prevention can strengthen the stunting handling powers. This dedication aims to educate cadres in a more attractive way. This dedication is carried out through the provision of stunting education using the video "Brantas Stunting". the dedication results obtained that there was an improvement in the level of knowledge and skill of the cadres about stunting prevention Keywords: Stunting, Health Volunteer, Knowledge, Video
