Abstract

ABSTRACT: Contribution perception of pedagogical competence of teachers to students engangement in math. This study is a correlational research which determine to find out contribution perception about pedagogical competence of Mathematics theachers to student engagement on Mathematics lesson. Subjects were 87 the  eighth grade students of  MTsN Padang Japang Lima Puluh Kota Regency, subjects were taken by total sampling technique. Result by simple linear regression analysis obtained r2 = 0.215 and p= 0.000 (p < 0.01) for engagement in general, r2 = 0.177 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) on cognitive engagement, r 2= 0.197 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) on emotional engagement,  r2 = 0.118 and p=0.001 (p < 0.01) on behavioral engagement, so this proves that perception of pedagogical competence of Mathematics teachers contribute to student engagement in Mathematics lesson.Keywords: perception about pedagogical competence of  teacher, student engagement, mathematics ABSTRAK: Kontribusi persepsi tentang kompetensi pedagogik guru terhadap keterikatan siswa pada pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional. Subjek  berjumlah  87 orang siswa kelas VIII MTsN Padang Japang Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota,  pengambilan subjek menggunakan teknik total sampling. Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana diperoleh nilai r2 = 0.215 dan p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) untuk keterikatan secara umum, r2 = 0.177 dan p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) pada keterikatan kognitif, r2 = 0.197 dan p = 0.000 (p < 0.01) pada keterikatan emosional,  r2 = 0.118 dan p = 0.001 (p < 0.01) pada keterikatan behavioral, sehingga membuktikan bahwa persepsi tentang kompetensi pedagogik guru matematika berkontribusi terhadap keterikatan siswa pada pelajaran Matematika.Kata kunci: persepsi tentang kompetensi pedagogik guru, keterikatan siswa, matematika
