Abstract

Maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still high and not yet reached MDGs target. In Indonesia, the causes of maternal mortality are bleeding, hypertension, infection, abortion, and prolonged labor, repectively. Ectopic pregnancy can be causes bleeding in the first trismester. Several study shown that smoking had a role to improve the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Literatur review was doing for case control study, smoking as an exposure, and the study outcome was ectopic pregnancy. The first step was filtered literature based on time, language, and appropiate theme. The next step literatur was being filtered by the topic of study that shown the association between smoking and ectopic pregnancy, there were not duplication literature, and every literature was being reviewed by three reviewer. Statistical Analyses in this literatur was using software Rev-Man 5,3 with random effects model. I2 Statistical value was used to measured the heterogenity of study results. Pooled estimasi shown that OR from all of study was 2,08 (1,68 – 2,57) with 51 % Heterogenity. The result shown that smikong can improve the risk of ectopic pregnancy, but there were high variation for OR in every study.
