Abstract

Mycobacterium tuberculosis exposed to Isoniazid experienced drug resistance due to morphological and selection factors, with Isoniazid concentrations of 0.5 μg / ml with a contact time of 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours, the results obtained in testing for NaCl 5% Kruskal wallis obtained sig 0.005 results there is a treatment effect on growth While in the semi-quantitative catalase test, a sig value of 0.007 was obtained with p 0.01 so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the duration of isoniazid exposure. resistance occurs due to the selection of strains that are resistant to treatment during the therapy process at 96 hours exposure with a percentage of 2%. In the exposure process it can be concluded that it will change the resistance to 5% NaCl, changes in Catalase test results and also causes strain selection that is resistant to isoniazid 0.5 µg / ml.

Abstract

Hyperglycemia trigger complication in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients such as diabetic nephropathy which cause of end-stage kidney failure. Monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure are part of self-management to prevent complications of diabetes. This study aim to determine the characteristics of type 2 DM prolanis patients at the Kedungmundu Health Center based on age, sex, duration of suffering, blood pressure, and blood glucose. In addition, the relationship of blood pressure and urine protein is also analysed in this study. This research use observational analytic design with cross-sectional approaching. The dependent and independent variables of this study are protein urine and blood pressure. Forty-six of DM patients are choosen as research’s object using purposive sampling technique. The data was analysed using chi-square. The results show that ratio between female and male type 2 diabetes patients are 71.7% to 28.3%. In addition, about 63% of the patients are suffering type 2 diabetes less than 5 years. The results inform us that 50% of type 2 diabetes patients are 56-65 years old, about 52.2% of them have hypertension, and 84.8% hyperglycemia. There is a significant relationship between blood pressure and urine protein with a p-value of 0.038 (p-value ≤ 0.05).

Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia and disturbances in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins associated with absolute or relative deficiencies of insulin action and or secretion. The main problem for DM sufferers is that more than 50% of diabetic patients do not know about the disease and its complications, so patients will return to the hospital with high blood glucose levels accompanied by various complications. The study aims to determine the factors that can cause complications in patients with diabetes mellitus. This research is a non-experimental study with a cross-sectional approach. The data were analyzed using SPSS with a Chi-square or Kruskal-Wallis and multivariate logistic regression test. Body mass index and duration of diabetes are significantly associated with the incidence of complications (p-value 0.05). Patients with an abnormal body mass index are 4.184x more at risk of complications than patients with a normal body mass index (RR 4.184 CI 1.581 – 11.070). In addition, patients with diabetes duration ≥5 years were 4.121 times more at risk of complications than patients with diabetes durations 5 years (RR 4.121 CI 1.570 – 10.816). The most common complication suffered by diabetic patients in this study was hypertension in 46 patients (41%), and the most common therapeutic regimen received by patients was oral hypoglycemia in 50 patients (52%).
