Abstract

The problem of this research is the courageousness of students to speak in a class discussion. The purpose of this research is to find out the improvement of students' courage to speak in class discussion using assertive training technique. This research used quasi experimental method with pretest posttest design. The subjects of this research were 20 students. Observation technique was used to collect the data. The result of the research shows that there is an improvement of speaking courageousness using assertive training technique, it is shown from the improvement of speaking courage 27,35% and result of data analysis using paired sample t-test, obtained tcount ttable (16.522 2.086). The conclusion of the study is that there is an improvement in students' speaking courageousness after having a group counseling using assertive training techniques. .Masalah penelitian ini adalah keberanian siswa berbicara dalam diskusi kelas. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan keberanian siswa berbicara dalam diskusi kelas dengan teknik assertive training. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest posttest design. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keberanian berbicara dengan teknik assertive training, hal ini ditunjukkan dari peningkatan sebesar 27,35% dan hasil analisis data dengan menggunakan paired sample t-test, diperoleh thitung ttabel (16.522 2,086). Kesimpulan penelitian adalah terdapat peningkatan terhadap keberanian berbicara pada siswa setelah pemberian konseling kelompok dengan teknik assertive training.Kata kunci: assertive training, keberanian berbicara, konseling kelompok
