Abstract

Many education institutions implement e-learning to replace traditional face-to-face teaching and learning activities due to the Covid19 pandemic. The situation forced students and teachers to adapt to the new normal of teaching and learning activities. This study aimed to evaluate the teachers' intention to use e-learning after almost a year after the Covid19 pandemic widespread began, using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach. The partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) technique was employed to evaluate the intention to use e-learning. Using 291 samples of Teachers in Indonesia, this study shows that the TAM approach describes the antecedent of teachers' intention to use e-learning during a pandemic. Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and job relevance are determinant factors of teachers’ intention to use e-learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

In 2016, the Indonesian Government emphasized character education by sparking a Character Strengthening Program or Program Penguatan Karakter/PPK to build and strengthen the students’ character. This program focuses on character building but it mainly highlights five main good characters which are religiosity, nationalism, integrity, independence, and cooperation. This study aims to deeply understand the perspective of students, teachers, and schools toward knowledge and value of character education and to explore the linkage among them as a complete picture. A mixed-method research was employed in this study. The data was collected from 2 junior and 2 senior high schools, which involved 4 headmasters, 12 teachers, and 212 students. Regression analysis was performed to evaluate the roles of teachers and schools in the internalization of character education among students, while the qualitative approach was employed to understand teachers’ and schools' perspectives. This study finds that based on the students’ perspective, teachers' and schools' roles are playing a significant effect on the internalization of the values of character education to them. The school and the teachers were not familiar with terms used by the governments PPK programs. Despite, the school and teacher are in synergy in developing the students’ good character with their own character development terms such as “akhlaq mulia” which is actually has similar values with the Government’s Character Strengthening Program

To overcome the problem, the possible alternative theteacher can use is using Project Based Learning since the approach seems to beeffective to improve the students’ writing competence. The other aspect that can possibly influence the writing competence is Motivation Achievement. In this research, the problem investigated is whether or not there is influence usingProject Based Learning and Achievement Motivation in increasing writingability. The kind of research used is experimental research with nonrandomizedcontrol group pretest posttest design. The data analysis used is t-test usingSPSS version 21. The result of the research shows that Project Based Learninginfluences the students’ writing ability, while Achievement Motivation has nosignificant impact on the students’ writing ability.

A quantitative method was used to summarize the data that was obtained from the outcome. Students from SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Jember are the participant for this research. 8 grade B as the experimental class while 8 grade A as control class. These students have studied descriptive text. The class 8 B was experimental group which was taught reading text using reciprocal method. The class 8 A was control group that was taugh reading only based on the text book. The data that have been collected then analyzed using spss to find if there is any significat effect in using reciprocal method in students reading comprehension.the result of the independent sample t-test on SPSS program, The value of sig (2-tailed) was 0.001 and it was less than 0.05. It could be revealed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group after. In other words, there was a significant effect of using reciprocal on the eighth-grade students’ reading score at SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Jember.
