Abstract

Diabetes Melitus adalah salah satu penyakit kronis yang sering dialami oleh lanjut usia dan berdampak terhadap kesehatan secara keseluruhan terutama pada fungsi fisik, psikologis dan sosial serta mempengaruhi semua dimensi kehidupan lansia sehingga mempengaruhi kualiatas hidup. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui pengaruh terapi kelompok suportif terhadap kualitas hidup lansia yang mengalami Diabetes Melitus di Kota Banda Aceh. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental. Responden penelitian berjumlah 78 lansia yang terdiri 39 lansia kelompok intervensi dan 39 lansia kelompok kontrol. Alat ukur yang digunakan kuesioner WHOQOL-Bref. Analisis menggunakan uji paired t-test dan independent t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan signifikan kualitas hidup dimensi fisik, psikologis, hubungan sosial dan lingkungan sebelum dan setelah mendapat terapi kelompok suportif (p value 0,05). Rekomendasi ini ditujukan kepada lansia yang mengalami diabetes melitus dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Kata kunci: terapi kelompok suportif, kualitas hidup, diabetes melitus. ABSTRACTDiabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that is often experienced by the elderly and has an impact on overall health, especially on physical, psychological and social functions and affects all dimensions of the life of the elderly, which affects the quality of life. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of supportive group therapy on the quality of life of elderly people who had diabetes mellitus in Banda Aceh City. The research design used was quasi experimental. The research respondents were 78 elderly consisting of 39 elderly intervention groups and 39 elderly control groups. The measuring instrument used by the WHOQOL-Bref questionnaire. Analysis using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in quality of life in physical, psychological, social and environmental dimensions before and after receiving supportive group therapy (p value 0.05).
