Abstract

PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XII Unit Serah Kencong merupakan perusahaan BUMN yang bergerak di bidang budidaya hasil perkebunan salah satunya teh hitam. Pengendalian kualitas yang dilakukan hanya berupa pencatatan hasil secara deskriptif sehingga hasilnya tidak mampu menunjukkan kebaikan suatu proses produksi. Pada kenyataannya pabrik sering mengalami masalah pada volume density yang menyebabkan perubahan kualitas dari rasa dan kepekatan warna. Density seringkali melebihi batas spesifikasi yang telah ditentukan yang membuat kualitas teh hitam menurun. Pada penelitian ini, pengendalian kualitas dilakukan secara multivariat karena density memberikan pengaruh terhadap karakteristik yang lain yaitu kepekatan warna dan rasa. Peta kendali yang digunakan adalah MEWMV dan MEWMA yang dinilai lebih sensitif terhadap pergeseran proses daripada peta kendali multivariat yang lainnya. Diperoleh hasil pembobot yang optimal adalah 0,9 untuk MEWMV dan MEWMA. Dari pembobot tersebut proses produksi teh hitam di PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XII Unit Serah Kencong XII belum terkendali secara statistik.  Indeks kapabilitas multivariat yang diperoleh adalah sebesar 2,02. Sehingga ada kecenderungan kinerja proses telah kapabel pada ketiga variabel. Nilai yang diperoleh adalah -0,53 dimana nilai tersebut lebih kecil dari 1 sehingga kinerja proses multivariat belum kapabel.

Abstract

In order to choose the right TELKOM Flexi product, prospecting customers need a guide for a better understanding of the products. Therefore, it is important for the company to measure how far the understanding level of the prospecting customers relates to the decision making in product selection. The decision level may give significant influence to marketing strategy of TELKOM Flexi. In analysis of confirmatory, indicators which were used to form unobserved variables comprised: Product Category Knowledge (PCK), Perceived Ease ofUse (PEU), Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Decision Confidence (DC). These indicators were significant, as shown by probability value of statistic smaller than 10%. Each indicator can be assumed to form unidimensionalities to each unobserved variables. Result of examination pursuant to criterion Goodness of Fit Indices of by using Structural Equation Modelling. Results of questioner's data processing showed that PCK had a direct influence of significance to PEU, PEU have influence of significant to PU, and PU had an influence of significance to DC. As a conclusion, the customers decided to buy Flexi because of the Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness. Therefore, PT TELKOM Kandatel of West Surabaya should base the marketing strateu on these two factors.

Abstract

One of the products of PT X, a paper manufacturing industry, is Pad Line Book. In order to maximize profit, PT X tried to reduce the production cost by maximizing defect. The current defect is approximately 5,560%. This research used Six Sigma quality method for improving the quality. The method consisted of five steps: i.e.Define- Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control. Define step was used to identifi defect root cause, using tool such as percentage control chart, while measure step is used to identify the type of defects. Analyse step defined the process variables including the levels that affect the quality significantly using Taguchi method matrix experiment (Orthogonal Array). The improve step defines the optimal response developed by Taguchi called Signal to Noise Ratio. The last step, control step provides the company with information on process variables that gives maximum contribution to achieve optimal response solution. By using attribute Taguchi method based on Six Sigma step, the process variables including levels combination that contributes to optimal solution all identified. For producing the Pad Line Books the combination was as follows; speed 400 m/s, glue pump pressure 3 bars, roll distance 0,3 m and temperature 550 Celcius. The overall quality improvement was 67,28% and the improvement itself grew from 4,23 six sigma to 4,33 six sigma.

Abstract

Paiton Phasa 11 Independent Power Producer (IPP) is a coal power station that operates 2x610 MW net steam turbine generators. This research is focused on lowest efficiency of transformation from chemical enerv to thermal energy in the steam generator (boiler). Based on information technology provided by ABB CE, there are four process variables affecting the combustion i.e. tilting (nozzle angle), air distribution, combination of elevation and furnace draft. Beside, there are two responses that represent the combustion performance i.e. [CO] gas and furnace exit temperature. The other variable that influences the combustion but is not controlled is type of coal called noise variable. The aim of this research is to find which process variables that have the most significant effect to the responses and identify the existing interaction among them. The second aim is to find the optimal combustion setting and calculate the improvement efficiency. In order to achieve that purpose, the Experiment Matrix called Orthogonal Array (04) developed by Taguchi is used. The result of this experiment matrix will be brought in to the signal ratio to noise (SIN) that transfer data in to a value that represents a measure of variance (precision and accurate). The next step is analysing data using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result of SN ratio and ANOVA is a setting that results in an optimal solution of [CO] and furnace exit temperature individually. The TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarly to Ideal Solution) is than used to get the only one setting producing optimal solution for both responses (multi responses optimation).
