Abstract

This paper explains the research results of leakage current data and estimation of flashover voltage on ceramics and epoxy resin as 20 kV outdoor insulator in a chamber with tropical climate conditions. The waveform of leakage current (LC) was measured using a digital oscilloscope. The digital data was transferred to a personal computer using a RS-232 cable. The digital data was analyzed using Fast Fourier Transform. The result showed that LC was affected by various environment conditions like temperature, humidity and pollution. LC of ceramics insulator was higher than epoxy resin insulator in low temperature, high humidity and high pollution condition.

Abstract

At this present time increasing electrical energy requirements, and therefore found the latest energy is solar energy. Solar energy can be harnessed as a potential alternative energy source because the energy is very large as well as environmentally friendly. Tool that can be used to convert sunlight directly into electricity is called photovoltaic. On the control panel to control the water pump on the motor control circuit design life turns automatically and manually. To control the timing of the displacement of the pump used to pump two timers. On the control panel of diesel propulsion sell used four times the displacement step. Switching time between steps in the set by a timer. The control panel uses the same circuit with the motor circuit alternating rounds.

Abstract

Inverter as power circuit is used to change DC to AC voltage. In general, DC which can be changed by inverter is DC voltage with constant value, for example battery or accu. Inverter is design to changed non constant DC voltage which produced by wind power generator become constant ac voltage. In changing process from non constant DC voltage to constant AC voltage is controlled by microcontroller to simplify the design of inverter.

Abstract

Loads of electricity utility consists of linear loads and non linear loads. The non linear loads for example TV, personal computer, VCD player, microwave and fluorescent lamp using electronics ballast. Loads with non linear characteristics become harmonic current source to electricity utility. Condition prediction used statistic linear comparison based on load power to THDi (Distortion of Harmonic Current). Measurement result using power quality analyzer and etap 4.0 (Fluke 43B) find typical THDi. The calculation and measurement result of PF and THD to loads of electricity utility show the differences less than 5%. However power factor formulation and distortions of harmonic current is valid
