Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of matching game in teaching reading comprehension at eight grade students of Mts Matsaratul Huda Pamekasan. This study is descriptive qualitative research, and the subject of this study are the eight grade students of Mts Matsaratul Huda Pamekasan. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation. In analyzing the data, there are some steps. The first is identifying the kind of students’ motivation. The second is identifying students speaking ability. The next step is classifying the data that had been collected and analyzing the data referring to be selected theory. The last is taking conclusion. The result of this study showed the teacher implemented matching game by put the students into several groups and gave each group random sentence to make paragraph, after that the groups shared their paragraph with other to make complete story. Matching game included in both competitive and cooperative game of kind of games. Matching game makes students active and interactive in the class to share, responsible with the other, allow expressing their feelings about the topic, and they get new vocabulary and easily being memorized.

Abstract

The English teaching and learning at MTS.Miftahul Ihsan, Sumenep for students grade VII was considered unable to achieve its learning purpose. The main problem was that there was not an appropriate learning media used in the learning activity.So that objective of the development is to produce the appropriate learning media using Audio Visual.The procedures being implied were collecting information using kinesthetic, audio and visual learning style, developing learning media, validation from expert of design and expert of learning content, trying out the learning media through individual experiment, small group experiment and field experiment, revising the learning media, and finally packing the learning media. From the try out, the data showed the applicability of the learning media could motivate the students in learning English. It was reflected in the data collected from the questionnaires and class room observation. The data collected from observation showed that the learning media of using audio visual are appropriate for the students.The final product of the development is learning media using audio visual. The learning media was packed in the form of compact disc. It contains the materials studied for grade VII.

Abstract

The research entitled “Ethnobotanical study of Tajio Tribe at Sienjo Village, Toribulu District, Parigi Moutong Regency Central Sulawesi has been done from November 2012-Ferbuari 2013. The research aimed were to know the diversity of useful plants, part of plant, and how to prepare its plant which were used by them. The research noethod was exploration survey by using Participary Rural Appraisal (PRA). The results of the research showed that there were 114 plants spesies which were used by Tajio tribe indaily activities.The plants species were utilized for different purpose such as food stuff (46 species), medicinal (36 species), ritual (18 species), ornamentals (15 species), dyes (3 species), contructions (8 species), spices (13 species), and as animal food (5 species). Keywords:Ethnobotany, Useful plants, Tajio ethnic, Village Sienjo, ICS
