Abstract

In this design, the designer wants to find alternative designs in making table sets with different constructions. One alternative construction is folding construction because the rapid growth of population makes land for housing become narrow and expensive, therefore middle to lower society prefer small home such as apartment. Seeing the situation, the designer wants to design a furniture that uses folding construction to cope with places with limited occupancy space, the designer began to search for information related with folding furniture, such as advantages, disadvantages, how to process and so on. With the information, the designer began to make design concepts, and the concept resulted in a multifunctional table set design with folding construction that could answer the existing design problems.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in ethnic groups, languages, religion, etc. Religion is one of the numerous diversities tolerated by the Indonesian. There are 5 religions admitted by the government of Indonesia, namely Catholic, Christian, Islam, Hindu, and Buddha. Christian is one of the most developed beliefs of its time, requiring a space to facilitate worship activity of the Christians. This design aims to present the unique characteristics of GBI ROCK in accordance with its vision and mission, as well as to design a minimalist church with still presenting a sacred impression in worship in order to be closer to God. GBI ROCK City Square is purposedly designed to give the impression of sanctity and the feeling of being closer to God during mass or worship while maintaining the minimalist concept. The main design in the vestry includes Prefunction section as a welcoming area for the congregation and multipurpose section as a facility designated to support the Sunday school.

Abstract

As time passes, there are many people who chooses to pets in their houses, among them are dogs. For that matter, there are appearances of dog lover communities in many areas, as well as dog cafes in some cities. Without realizing it, there has never been a designer who designs facilities to fulfill the needs of dogs and humans simultaneously in Indonesia. This research is using a design thinking method which starts from understand, observe, point of view, ideate, prototype, test, story telling and business model. The result of this research is one set of multifunctional facilities which includes playing, sitting, and storage facilities for the owner and playing, resting, as well as eating and drinking facilities for dogs. This facility has the modular and knock down feature, which also can be used by dogs and its owner simultaneously.

Abstract

Dormitory, or sometimes called hostel is some kind of temporary living space which is intended for a group of people, that commonly consists of schoolboys/girls and university students. The dorm room has a limited space and is unable to accommodate their activities, especially design students with their tasks. The complexity of the student's activity has to be accommodated in the dorm room which is their private space. Therefore, a multi-functional furniture design with a compact and flexible nature is needed to solve the user's problem.This design can be fulfilled with holding surveys and collecting literature data about dormitory, multi-functional furniture, and student activities as the user. The goal of this design is to study and understand that the student's complex activities can be accommodated by a single multi-functional furniture.

Abstract

The growing human need on food causes Indonesian culinary to be in a strategic position for fast food supply. Thus, Ronde Bondowoso Nyonya Tjandrawati is improving its product quality so Ronde will be widely known among society. Aside from its quality, Ronde Bondowoso Nyonya Tjandrawati also has to pay more attention to its stand design, since the current stand does not reflect its vision & mission yet and answer its sales activity. The products sold are not well organized hence lack of interest from consumers to simply visit/stop by at the stand. Therefore, Ronde Bondowoso Nyonya Tjandrawati’s stand design is expected to solve these problems so that it can be widely known among society.

Abstract

The fashion world is now experiencing rapid development, especially in Indonesia, because fashion is the part that cannot be separated from people’s appearance and everyday style, and also as a communication tool to state their identity. The development of fashion world also affects the emergence of manufacturers offering goods that have been designed to attract the attention of consumers to meet their fashion needs and be more up to date. Fashion needs they buy and also collect make the role of furniture very much needed to become a storage container at home. Therefore in this design multifunctional wardrobe are designed not only to store clothes, but also other items such as shoes, hats, bags, and other accessories based on collected data on user needs and activities while in a storage cabinet, so that the designed cabinets can store many items in the same place without having to be placed separately and also make user activities easier when selecting the items to be used.

Abstract

The impact of current era development causes people's lifestyles to change, especially among youth, therefore many entrepreneurs make this phenomenon as an opportunity to open a business, such as a coffee cafe. Currently coffee cafe is not only becoming a place to make transactions, but many people also go to the café to work, gather, chat, discuss and others. SMART Coffee Café and Roastery is a place to accommodate the needs of the society, not only as a café in general, in this café visitors can experiment in making their own coffee. The purpose of this design is to design a Coffee Café and Roastery that provides education to society in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya about coffee through the design application. The design method used is adopting design thinking scheme according to Carol Dweck with 10 stages which are Discovery, Observe, Emphatize, Leverage Stories to Discover Insights, Frame and Reframe, Ideate, Decide, Prototype, Validate your Idea, Iterate. Benefits that can be felt by visitors or the community are they will feel more comfortable and calm in the café, and will be able to get to know more about history and various types of coffee through the design that’s applied.

Abstract

Apartments have several types of rooms, but the most commonly used is studio type. The average studio-type apartment has a narrow living space and no living room so guests who wish to visit eventually sit in bed or in less appropriate places. Therefore the need for furniture that can meet all the needs in one space. In this article the product is designed in the form of a set of furniture for the living room with a magnet base as its join. This furniture uses knockdown construction system so it can be dismantled and can be stored in flat pack. The concept taken for design this time is by combining natural materials with industrial materials, from here taken the theme of the concept, named "Magnetize the Nature". Apart from the material side, the shapes taken also come from nature, but are simplified into simple geometric shapes
