Abstract

ABSTRAKoptimasi Jarak probe ultrasonic test immersion pada cladding PEB. Telah didapat parameter jarak optimum pada pengujian kondisi permukaan kelongsong PEB menggunakan beberapa variasi probe ultrasonic test immersion. Penggunan alat uji ultrasonik khususnya pada kegiatan PIE (Post irradiation examination) merupakan salah satu metode pengujian pada tahap uji tak merusak bahan bakar nuklir yang ada di Instalasi Radiometalurgi PTBBN-BATAN.  Metode yang dilakukan yaitu membandingkan data sinyal keluaran %FSH (Full Screen High) pada variasi jarak tertentu (28 – 42 mm) pada probe IK-5-6, IK-5-10, dan IW-10-6 menggunakan sampel kelongsong PEB dengan kecepatan 6400 m/s. Hasil yang diperoleh pada masing-masing probe tersebut mempunyai jarak optimum 32 mm, 38 mm, dan 32 mm terhadap sampel dengan %FSH tertinggi pada probe IK-5-6. Sehingga optimasi parameter jarak variasi probe terbaik pada kelongsong PEB berjalan normal menghasilkan bahwa probe IK-5-6 merupakan probe terbaik dalam mengintrepetasikan kondisi permukaan kelongsong PEB jika terdapat cacat/anomali  Kata kunci: PIE, ultrasonic testing, probe, jarak optimum, kelongsong PEB ABSTRACTOPTIMIZATION OF DISTANCE OF ULTRASONIC TEST IMMERSION PROBE CLADDING PEB.The optimum distance parameters obtained in testing the surface condition of the PEB cladding using a variety of ultrasonic test immersion probes. The use of ultrasonic testing equipment, especially in PIE activities (Post irradiation examination), is one of the testing methods at the test stage which does not damage nuclear fuel in Radiotherapy Metallurgical Instalation of PTBBN-BATAN. The method used is to compare %FSH (Full Screen High) output signal data at certain distance variations (28 – 42 mm) on IK-56, IK-5-10, and IW-10-6 probes using PEB cladding samples with 6400 m/s velocity. The results obtained are that each of these probes has an optimum distance of 32 mm, 38 mm, and 32 mm against the sample with highest %FSH on the IK-5-6 probe. So that the optimization of the parametersof the variation of probes on the PEB cladding is normal and results in the probes IK-5-6 being the best probe in interpreting the surface conditions of the PEB cladding if there are defects/anomalies. Key words: PIE, ultrasonic testing, probe, optimum distance, PEB cladding
