Abstract

This study aims to find out the influence of the dose of liquid organic fertilizer biourin cow and the type of organic mulch is best for the growth and yield of long bean plants. The method used in this study is a Complete Group RandomIzed Design consisting of two factors of 3 x 3 plus 1 control (the use of chemical fertilizers without bovine biourin and organic mulch). The first factor is the dose of liquid organic fertilizer biourin cow (S) consists of 3 levels namely S1 = 400 ml/plant; S2 = 500 ml/plant; S3 = 600 ml/plant. The second factor is the type of organic mulch (M) consists of 3 levels namely M1 = Rice straw; M2 = Reed leaves; M3 = Corn stalk. Plant control is the provision of chemical fertilizers without biourin cows and organic mulch. The data obtained was analyzed using diversity analysis (Anova) at a rate of 5%. To know there is a real difference between control and treatment using Orthgonal Contras test at 5% level, while to know there is a real difference between the treatment then conducted Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the level of 5%.

Abstract

Drying rice grain is one of the problems faced during the rainy season. This study aims to obtain information about the height of the tent, the thickness of the appropriate seed layer, and the interaction between the height of the tent and the thickness of the seed layer on the quality of rice seeds. The research method used is a field experiment prepared with a completely randomized block design using a split-plot design. As the main plot is the treatment of the height of the tarpaulin cover are 50, 80, and 110 cm. As a subplot is a thick layer treatment is 5, 7, 9, and 11 cm. Each treatment combination was repeated three times. The results showed that tarpaulin height has a significant effect on the parameters of the maximum growth potency and plant height at week 4. A tent height of 50 cm had the highest maximum growth potential. Layer thickness gave a significant effect on the parameters of the number of tillers at week 4 and plant height at week 4. The number of tillers in the fourth week of treatment with a layer thickness of 7, 9, and 11 cm was not significantly different but was significantly better than the layer thickness of 5 cm. The highest parameter of plant height at week 4 was 7 cm thick. There was an interaction between tarpaulin height and layer thickness on the parameters of the number of tillers at week 6, plant height at week 2 and 6.

Abstract

Activities of Old Lawu volcano in the past resulted in various soil development in the south side of the volcano, especially in the area of the east side of Wonogiri and west side of Ponorogo, that located in the Java island. This area is also famous as herbal crops producer for raw materials of traditional herbal medicine industry. The purpose of this research is to identify the process of exposure of the parent materials in the Old Lawu volcanic environment, the development of the soil parent materials, and the mineralogy variation.  Four Sites with different geological formation were observed, and each Site was selected for soil profile identification on the process of weathering of rocks.  All layers of each profile were then sampled and then sand fraction of the fine earth particle was determined for the mineral type using X-ray diffraction (XRD).  The results showed that materials of the Old Lawu volcanic activity that was of quaternary period had sized material of gravel, sand, silt, and clay. These materials were then exposed and undergone the process of weathering, transportation, and sedimentation according to the landform at that period. The development of soil as geoheritage in this region was influenced by the material size, landform, and settling process. There are four typologies of the environment on the soil development at the present study, there are: (1) Soil that developed in the inter-fluvial basins is characterized by thick soil and a clear horizon differentiation process as a feature of maturity stage of soil development. (2) Soil developed on the slope of hill area is characterized by shallow in solum and it is in early-stage soil development. (3) Soil developed on the volcanic materials that were transported and sedimented in the river environment is characterized by the thick soil above the layered fine size parent material with a variety of color. (4) Soil developed on the tertiary breccia showed early soil development.

Abstract

Tanaman terung ungu (Solanum melongena L.) merupakan komoditas tanaman hortikultura yang banyak digemari oleh masyarakat. Produktivitas tanaman terung ungu di Indonesia termasuk masih rendah. Permasalahan rendahnya produktivitas dapat diselesaikan dengan budidaya yang tepat. Salah satu langkah mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah kombinasi perlakuan umur bibit pindah tanam dan pemberian air cucian beras. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh umur perpindahan bibit dan dosis pemberian air cucian beras yang tepat. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai Februari-Juni 2022 di Jl.Jetis Jombongan, Sumbersari, Moyudan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan percobaan faktorial (3×4) berupa Rancangan lingkungan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Faktor I adalah umur bibit pindah tanam dengan tiga taraf, yaitu 7 hari, 14 hari, dan 21 hari. Faktor II adalah dosis pemberian air cucian beras dengan empat taraf, yaitu 0 ml/tanaman, 100 ml/tanaman, 200 ml/tanaman, dan 300 ml/tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi antara kombinasi perlakuan umur bibit pindah tanam 21 hari dengan pemberian air cucian beras 300 ml pada parameter berat buah, panjang buah, dan diameter buah. Perlakuan umur bibit pindah tanam 21 hari memberikan hasil tertinggi pada parameter tinggi tanaman 2,4,6 MST, jumlah daun 2,4,6 MST, diameter batang 2,4,6 MST, waktu berbunga, berat buah, panjang buah, diameter bauh, jumlah buah per tanaman, dan potensi hasil. Pemberian air cucian beras 300 ml memberikan hasil tertinggi pada parameter diameter buah dan berat buah.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the composition of the tea waste liquid organic fertilizer and the composition of the growing media in increasing the yield of tomato plants. The research was conducted from June to November 2022 at the Wedomartani Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Kapanewon Ngemplak, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Research method with polybags using factorial (3 × 3 + 1) arranged in a completely randomized design. The first factor was tea waste liquid organic fertilizer with 3 levels: 200 ml/l, 300 ml/l, and 400 ml/l. The second factor was the composition of the planting medium in the form of a mixture of soil and goat manure consisting of 3 levels: (1:1), (1:2), and (2:1). For each treatment of tea waste liquid organic fertilizer, 3 grams of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer was added. The control treatment used soil and 3 grams of NPK fertilizer for each application of fertilization which was given 3 times. The results showed that the combination of treatments was better than the control on tomato fruit diameter per harvest, tomato fresh fruit weight per third and fourth harvest. There was no interaction between the concentration of tea waste liquid organic fertilizer and the composition of the planting medium. Concentration of 400 ml/l tea waste liquid organic fertilizer gave higher yields on tomato fruit diameter per harvest, tomato fresh fruit weight per harvest and total tomato fresh fruit weight. The composition of the growing media with a composition of 1:1 gave the highest yield on tomato fruit diameter per harvest and a composition of 2:1 for total fresh fruit weight of tomatoes.
