Abstract

Palm oil production in Riau continues to increase from year to year. The increase in palm oil production still has obstacles caused by pests and diseases, among others caused by pathogenic fungi, Ganoderma boninense, this fungus causes root rot disease. Control of stem rot disease is needed appropriate techniques, especially controls that are environmentally friendly. One of the uses of biological agents, such as Trichoderma, especially Trichoderma virens. This study aims to obtain a dose of Trichoderma virens that is effective in controlling Ganoderma boninense in oil palm pre nursery on peat medium. This research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of the State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This research was conducted in December 2018 - March 2019. This research was a field experiment (experiment) using a Non Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL) by conducting Trichoderma virens test on oil palm seeds with various doses where each treatment was repeated 6 times there are 30 experimental units. The results showed that the parameters observed were macroscopic and microscopic fungi ,in-vitro test, speed of infection, intensity of disease attack, plant height, stem diameter and root root ratio. The results showed that Trichoderma virens fungi can reduce the intensity of fungal disease attack Ganoderma boninense given Trichoderma virens increased the growth of stem diameter of oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Spodoptera litura is one of the important plant pests that are polyphagic. Spodoptera litura attacks can cause damage to up 80% on plants causing losses for framer. Control using synthetic pesticides is excessive because it causes negative for environment. Efforts that can be made are using biopesticides such as Terminalia catappa L. leaves. This research aims to obtain effective concentrations in controlling Spodoptera litura in vitro. The research was carried out in Pathology, Entomology and Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and experimental farm of State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim from February to March 2019. This research used a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments, consisting of control, 9% EDK, 18% EDK, 27% EDk and 36% EDK with 3 replications. The parameters used are larvae stop eating (%), speed of death, mortality, toxicity of LC50 and larvae become pupae (%). The result showed the effective concentration in controlling Spodoptera litura was EDK 18%.

Abstract

Spodoptera caterpillars belong to the category of pests that cause serious damage to crops, therefore, to improve crops, environmentally friendly herbicides such as sorrel are needed. The aim of this research was to obtain a sorrel leaf extract that is effective in controlling Spodoptera. The study was carried out in the Laboratory of Pathology, Microbiological Entomology, Soil and Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Sanctity, Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau National Islamic University, and the Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics of Natural Sciences of Riau University from February to March 2019. This study used a non-factorial complete randomized design consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications, thus there were 18 treatment units. The parameters observed were daily mortality, percentage of larvae stop feeding, larvae transform into rabbits, lethal concentration 50%. Research results showed that the effective concentration was 20% and the increase in concentration did not affect larval mortality.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the income of papaya farmers in Pasir Penyu District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews with 15 sample farmers, while secondary data was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Agriculture of Indragiri Hulu Regency. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative by calculating the costs incurred by farmers, farmer income and business feasibility analysis. The research results show that the average fixed cost of papaya farming is IDR. 2,162,600.00 per month. Meanwhile, the average variable cost for farmers is Rp. 4,587,000.00 per month. The net income of papaya farmers is Rp. 2,418,400.00 per month with an RCR value of 1.23.
