Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectivity of using picture card media with STAD cooperative learning model toward student learning activities and student learning achievement. The study design was a pretest posttest non equivalent. The samples were X7 and X8 class which selected by cluster random sampling. The research data were quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data obtained from the value of pretest, posttest, and N-gain were analyzed by using U-test. The quantitative data was a description of student learning activities and student questionnaire responses. The results showed that the activities of asking questions was 78.89% and the lowest activities of expression was 56.67%. The student learning achievement was increase with an average was 28.63, but it was not significantly. It can be concluded that the use of picture card media with STAD was not effective to improve student learning. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media kartu bergambar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X7 dan X8 yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes, postes, dan N-gain yang dianalisis menggunakan uji U. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas mengajukan pertanyaan sebesar 78,89% dan aktivitas terendah mengungkapkan pendapat 56,67%. Hasil belajar mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata 28,63, namun tidak signifikan. Dengan demikian pembelajaran media kartu bergambar melalui STAD tidak efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, dunia tumbuhan, hasil belajar, media kartu bergambar, STAD
