Abstract

The objective of the research were to improve student activity and learning outcomes throught cooperative learning model of group investigation type on IPS learning. This research used classroom action research which was consisted of two cycles, each of cycles has four stages, they are: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data collection was done by observation and test used observation sheet and test questions. While, the data were analyzed by using qualitative and quantitative methods. Based on the data analyed, showed that cooperative learning model of group investigation type is able to increase student learning activity and result.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation pada pembelajaran IPS. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus memiliki empat tahapan, yaitu: (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) pengamatan, dan (4) refleksi.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tes menggunakan lembar observasi dan soal-soal tes.Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwamodel pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPS siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas, hasil belajar, group investigation, IPS.
