Abstract

ABSTRAKMalnutrisi mempunyai pengaruh negatif  terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan  janin,  khususnya pertumbuhan otak. Gangguan pertumbuhan otak serta perkembangannya dapat menyebabkan disfungsi pada penyimpanan informasi dan proses recalling, sehingga konsekuensinya akan terjadi gangguan memori. Kerusakan oksidatif merupakan salah satu jalur penyebab yang baru dikemukakan sebagai hipotesis penyebab kerusakan otak akibat malnutrisi pada tikus. Asupan nutrisi  yang  rendah  dapat menurunkan  kadar  antioksidan  pada  tikus  otak,  kemudian  akan menyebabkan  gangguan memori  yang progresif. Moringa oleifera merupakan  sebuah  tanaman  yang populer akhir-akhir  ini untuk digunakan sebagai tambahan makanan yang mengandung antioksidan di beberapa negara miskin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan pengaruh   bubuk ekstrak Moringa oleifera terhadap perbaikan fungsi memori pada tikus dengan kekurangan energi protein. Pada penelitian ini digunakan tikus wistar sebanyak 20 ekor, yang dibagi kedalam 5 kelompok yang terdiri dari kelompok kontrol diet malnutrisi, kelompok diet normal, kelompok diet malnutrisi yang mendapatkan tambahan  diet  bubuk  daun Moringa  oleifera  dengan  dosis  180 mg,  kelompok  diet  malnutrisi  yang  mendapatkan tambahan diet bubuk daun Moringa oleifera dengan dosis 360 mg, dan kelompok diet malnutrisi yang mendapatkan tambahan diet bubuk daun Moringa oleifera dengan dosis 720 mg. Uji Morris watermaze digunakan untuk mengukur perbaikan memori, sedangkan metode xanthin oxidase digunakan untuk mengukur kadar antioksidan otak. Potongan hipokampus diambil sepanjang 5 s.d. 6 mm pada rostral sulcus cerebrocerebelaris. Penelitian  ini dapat membuktikan bahwa bubuk ekstrak daun Moringa oleifera mampu meningkatkan kadar antioksidan SOD pada otak tikus dan mampu memperbaiki  fungsi memori pada kekurangan energi protein. Kata Kunci: Kelor, malnutrisi, M. Abstract

Superficially, Intelligence is an ability to planning, thinking, talking, rationalization, comparing, and understand with other. One of many methods to rate for intelligence, is Draw-A-Man test, it’s introduced by Goodenough in 1926 to researching children’s creativity, mental age, and visual and motoric intelligence with some code based on picture that the children drawed. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between head circumference and head length with Intelligence Quotient of the 3rd grade Karang Mekar 1 Banjarmasin elementary school’s student. The methodsof this study used observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique was total sampling with a sample of 65 students aged 7 to 10 years and fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of data analysis using the Spearman correlation test showed that the correlation point on the head circumference and head length with IQ were p=0.888 and p=0.985. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is no significant correlation between the the head circumference and head length with Intelligence Quotien in elementary student.

Abstract

Hypertension has been known as one of the leading causes of death in Indonesia. Its major complications such as cerebrovascular accidents and heart disease are frequently associated with morbidity and disability. Recently, some research reports that hypertension had associated with the incidence of osteoarthritis. However, numerous researchers had disapproved of this theses and many research were conducted. To clarify this controversy, we conducted a small study to determine the relationship between the incidence of osteoarthritis in hypertensive patients. This study used an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Purposive sampling method was used and obtain 50  peoples in Cempaka Health Centre of Banjarbaru chosen as the sample. Among them were 46 patients (92%) who had hypertension and 21 patients (42%) who had osteoarthritis. Hypertensive patients with osteoarthritis were 20 patients (40%), which is more than those without hypertension, as many as 1 patients (2%). Analysis using the fisher’s exact test obtained p=0.630 with a confidence level of 95%. Based on the research conducted it can be concluded that hypertension had not been associated with the incidence of osteoarthritis.

Abstract

Introduction: It has been known that  the infestation of Trichuris muris egg in the intestinal mice may induce a host immune ‎response to eliminate the worms. Worms antigen will stimulate host immune response in the intestinal ‎secondary lymphoid organs. One of the secondary lymphoid organs in the intestinum is GALT (gut-‎associated lymphoid tissue). Worm antigen activate naive T cells and naive B cells in GALT and ‎trigger differentiation of T cells into Th2 and stimulate B cell to produce gut IgE. However a structural change of GALT structure is still poorly understood.‎ Objective: This study aims to find  influence of embrionic Trichuris muris egg infestation to the structural ‎changes of mice intestinum GALT.Methods: This research uses true experimental method with post-test only with control group design. Mice are grouped into 3 groups. The first group was given 40 Trichuris muris embryonic egg peroral, second group was given 200 eggs, and third was control group. On the 30th day after treatment, the mice were sacrificed and intestinal GALT structural change has been analyzed (p<0.05). Results: There was no effect of Trichuris muris embryonic egg infestation on the structure of mice intestinum GALT. However, there is a unique finding of GALT in the form of a Peyer’s patch in the basal plica transversalis colon proximalis of 1 mice given egg T. peroral murmus, at low doses or high doses. Conclusion: There was no effect of Trichuris muris embryonic egg infestation on the structure of mice intestinum GALT
