Abstract

Rural communities are generally too ordinary and have little knowledge regarding building materials. Theexistence of a government program that requires direct involvement of community members makes theproblem of the quality of the physical work of the program doubtful. Community knowledge of buildingproblems needs to be improved through empowerment.The process of information transformation in empowering ordinary people is a problem in itself.Knowledge and varying levels of education require a separate method of assistance.With easy-to-understand communication methods, it is hoped that the recipient community will be able toimplement the program correctly as expected by the government as the program provider. On the otherside, the community can directly benefit from the program in the form of increasing welfare and economicprogress.Keywords: Empowerment, Building MaterialsABSTRAKMasyarakat pedesaan pada umumnya terlalu awam dan sedikit pengetahuan terkait bahan bangunan.Adanya program pemerintah yang menghendaki keterlibatan langsung anggota masyarakat menjadikanpermasalahan mutu pekerjaan fisik program diragukan. Pengetahuan masyarakat akan permasalahanbangunan perlu ditingkatkan melalui pemberdayaan.Proses transformasi informasi dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat awam menjadi masalah tersendiri.Pengetahuan dan tingkat pendidikan yang beragam memerlukan metoda tersendiri dalam pendampingantersebut.Dengan metoda komunikasi yang mudah dimengerti difarapkan masyarakat penerima program mampumelaksanakan program dengan benar seperti yang diharapkan pemerintah selaku pemberi program. Di sisislain masyarakat bisa langsung mendapatkan keuntungan dari program berupa kenaikan kesejahteraan dankemajuan ekonominya.Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan, Bahan Bangunan.
