Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify traditional games in the Malay Muslim community of South Sumatra, to identify the values found in traditional games and to find the traditional game model of Malay Muslim community in South Sumatra in reducing the tendency of children to play Skip Challenge. The method used in this research is qualitative verification method. Subjects in this study are students and lecturers in Faculty of Dakwah and Communication. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews, documentation and triangulation. Data analysis technique using Miles and Huberman model is Data Reduction, Data Dispute and Conclusion (Verification). From the result of the research, there are 17 kinds of traditional game of Malay Muslim community in South Sumatera, namely: gudang kero, gamang, adang-adangan, cak engleng, ekar, epat cadang, tukupan pedekan biji para/asem, yeye/tali, dakocan/uwong-uwongan, gambaran/ambulan, bentengbentengan, karet gelang, cetoran, ore’an, pantak lele dan layangan. The values of character education contained in the game the value of honesty, the value of sportsmanship, the value of cooperation, the value of strategy settings and leadership value. The values in Islam contained in the game are: Leadership Soul (Imamah), Cooperation (Ta'awun), Relieved (Wus'ah), Enforcing justice ('adalah) Obedient Rule (Ta'at), Honest (Amanah) Work hard (Sa'iy), Not Arrogant, (Tawadhu '), Clever (Fatanah), Motivator (Istibaqah) and Gender Equality (Musawah). Abstract

Abstract : The development of technology makes the news continue to grow so that we can easily find news. However, in producing news that is in accordance with the rules, competency is needed in writing. This study discusses the use of digital media literacy in an effort to increase the competence of writing news for journalism students. This study aims to determine the relationship between digital media literacy and news writing skills. The method in this study uses a mix method approach, a quantitative approach is used to determine the level of understanding and relationship between variables. Meanwhile, qualitative research is used to look at the factors that influence news writing. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication. The study population consisted of 240 students with a sample of 118 students who were taken using a purposive random sampling technique. Quantitative instruments use media literacy questionnaires and news writing, qualitative instruments use interviews. Quantitative data analysis techniques using simple linear regression and qualitative using data presentation, data reduction. The results showed that the level of digital media literacy of students was in the medium category while the understanding of news writing was in the moderate category of 59%. thus there is a significant relationship between digital media literacy variables and news writing competence.
