Abstract

This study investigated the application model of character education in Islamic Religious Education learning and spiritual extracurricular activities in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Palembang. Data were collected using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results show that the implementation model of character education is a collaboration between the integration model and the supplement. Character education is collaborated through learning Islamic Religious Education and spiritual extracurricular activities. These two activities produce knowledge, attitudes, and moral actions on the part of students. The success of character education can be seen from the behavior of students who have religious behavior, honest, disciplined, responsible, caring, polite, cooperative, creative, hard-working, curious, friendly, and social care. There were some factors that supported the success of character education and they include religious programs, dormitories, and facilities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors for the success of character education were the negative influence of technology, limited supervision by madrasa institutions, and weak cooperation between madrasas and parents of students.

Abstract

This research is titled "Culture in Tsanawiyah Al-Ishlah Madrasah Tulung Selapan Ogan Komering Ilir Regency". Researchers want to analyze how culture and the factors that influence the formation of culture in Madrasah. This research is a qualitative ethnographic method. Researchers conducted observations, interviews, and document studies, then carried out domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, compound analysis, and analysis of cultural themes. The results of cultural research in Madrasah, namely; First, madrasah have a work philosophy, religious values, care for the environment and discipline, madrasah beliefs that a good education will produce quality graduates. Secondly, the integrated madrasah design is functionally integrated. Third, the organization's systems, mechanisms, and procedures are set out in the madrasah regulations. Fourth, the vision and mission of the madrasah aims to produce quality graduates. Fifth, Madrasah motto 'Al-Ishlah Is Better, Better to Al-Ishlah'. Sixth, Behavior among madrasas, that is, please help, respect and maintain environmental cleanliness. Seventh, madrasah used to carry out religious rituals, orderly, time discipline, independent, and diligent. Eighth, the factors that influence the formation of culture are internal and external factors in madrasah. Madrasah culture is religious culture, caring culture, discipline culture, orderly culture, and independent culture.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to be able to analyze and describe more deeply about the academic and social culture at Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga Middle School and find out how the characters formed at Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga Middle School. This research methodology uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis methods and ethnographic research types. The primary data source of this study was obtained from observations, field notes (interviews). Secondary sources in this study were obtained from various sources consisting of books, dissertations, theses, theses, magazines, journals, articles, newspapers and data from the internet as well as writings that support the authenticity of credible and authoritative primary data. Furthermore, the data analysis technique in this study is to do data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusions. Whereas in checking the validity data, the researcher uses four criteria, namely: trustworthiness, dependability, dependability, and certainty. Based on the analysis of the researchers' findings, it can be conveyed about the school culture at Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga Junior High School which contains two aspects of culture, namely: 1) academic culture which includes reading culture, learning culture, creativity culture. 2) social culture that is attached to mutual support, 3S culture (smile, greetings, greetings), and simple living culture. The characters formed through school culture in Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga Middle School ITS are: religious character, independent character, curiosity character, creative character, democracy character, discipline character, responsible character and social care character.
