Abstract

Lincak, sebagai salah satu benda yang selalu ada dalam rumahpedesaan Jawa, khususnya di Yogyakarta, selain fungsional sebagaiperangkat rumah tangga, juga mengandung makna filosofis. Lincakmerupakan kursi panjang terbuat dari bambu, yang berfungsi sebagaitempat duduk, santai dan tiduran. Bambu yang dirangkai dengan bilahanbilahan berongga pada sandaran dan tempat duduk, sebagai fungsi sirkulasiudara, mempunyai karakter yang memberikan rasa "dingin".Rangkaian kontruksi dengan sisitem "knock down"" dan tersusun silangmenyilang,mencerminkan suatu "keindahan". Pengatasan teknologi yang.menyatu dengan perilaku alam, tercermin dari perhitungan pemotonganbambu untuk lincak dilakukan pada saat "mangsa kesanga", atau saatsetelah musim hujan selesai. Dengan tanda-tanda saat hewan kecil "hamabubuk", pemakan bambu'" pemakan bambu manghilang masuk kedalamtanah. Dengan memperhatikan eara pengolahan bambu berdasarkan aturanadat turun-temurun, "usia pakai" lincak dapat bertahan lebih dari 10tahun. Secara proses produk, sistem teknologi, sistern struktur dandimensi lincak "standard", merupakan hasil karya yang turun-temurun,perubahan hanya terjadi pada modifIkasi pada ornament, finishing danperkuatannya. Lincak dengan fungsi pemakaian untuk lingkungan"modern" , sudah tidak lagi memperhatikan proses-proses berdasarkanadat, hal yang menonjol yang masih perlu dipertahankan adalah struktur"knock down" dan anyaman bambunya.

Abstract

This research is a preliminary study on the role of the student dormitory tosupport the study process of engineering students of Yogyakarta State University.The research is aimed to reveal the relationship between student dormitoryareas and the study process of the engineering students in the YogyakartaState University. The support on the study process of the engineering studentsare the non-physical support such as the dormitory area and the physicalsupport such as the facilities of the dormitory.The nature of the research is a qualitative research. The engineering studentsof the Yogyakarta State University and their dormitory were decided as the respondent.11 dormitory students were selected as the samples. The questionerthat was used for a cross check field observation are collected randomly from50 (fifty) engineering faculty students of the Yogyakarta State University.The result of the research clarifies that there are 81.81 % of respondentslived in a permanent dormitory building. The construction of dormitory consist87..87% of one floor building. The research also shows that the spatialoccupancy of the dormitory is 7.50 up to 9.00 meter square per person. Thiscondition has already fulfilled the minimum requirement that is 6.00 metersquare per person. It indicates that the dormitories support the student liveexternally and internally. 93.90% respondents clarify that the dormitory hasalready became the place for study as well as for live. 78.75% respondentsclarify that the dormitory area is sufficient to support the process of study.Key words: student dormitory, facility, studying support ability

Abstract

ABSTRACTYogyakarta could be the mirror of "Nusantara" since it had beenaccumulated with people from all around the Nusantara for education. Itgradually grow into semi metropolis city, where new physical facilitiesdeveloped. There for physical facilities are needed. This research wasconducted to know the minimalism architecture style implemented inhouse development in Yogyakarta.The research was' carried out on qualitative design. Data iscollected through observation, visualization, skates maker, photodocumentation and deeply interview. Relevant documentation from otherconnected departments was taken. Data is analyzed with inductivemethod: it does not mean to reveal hypothesis but it is focused to makean abstract. Triangulation was conducted to test data validity.The results showed that: (a) House and housing developmentuntil 2004 decade still dominated by Mediteran Style, Tropical HouseStyle and Classical House Style with ornaments, (b) The MinimalismHouse Style in architecture focuses on essential and functional aspects.The Minimalism Style dominated by basic geometrical forms withoutornament or decoration; It began to grow since 2004 to 2006, in SlemanRegency, Yogyakarta.Keywords: Architecture Style, Development, MinimalismArchitecture Style.
