Abstract

AbstractHigher education students world reflects a life emphasizing academic morals.Unfortunately, there have been a lot of student fights triggered by trivial matters.This indicates a crisis in academic morals and stains campuses as centers foracademic life. If students as the intellectual young generation were continuouslyinvolved the culture of fight, the nation would be in danger. Therefore, it isnecessary to find a solution that can make use of students excessive energy todevelop their creative potentials and imaginations through academic activities tomake them mature and skillful. It is the responsibility of a higher educationinstitution to develop students potentials so that they can give positivecontributions to society through their activities. The Yogyakarta State Universityhas made a breakthrough by including Physical Education (PE) in the 2009Curriculum. It is an initial step to equip students with both hard skills and softskills. PE makes use of physical activities in an attempt to attain educational goals.PE provides students with essential values that they can utilize in their campus andsocial life. Abstract

Abstract: Stressand How to Reduce It. Everyone experiences stress or tension but it will vary from person to person. The difference lies in its intensity and the way to respond to its causes. Some ways to reduce stress include, among others, consuming healthy and nutritious foods, maintaining physical fitness, doing breath exercises, doing relaxation exercises, doing fun activities, taking a vacation, establishing harmonious relationship, avoiding bad habits, planning daily routines, keeping plants and animals, sparing time for oneself or families, and avoiding loneliness. Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at finding out the effectiveness of a groundstroke skill instructional model for the beginner tennis players among the 8 university students. The population was the students of the 2001 and 2002 academic years of the Department of Sport Trainer Education, Faculty of Sport Science, of the State University of Yogyakarta,who took the Lawn Tennis as one of their compulsory courses. The sample was 26 students chosen randomly from the total of 48 students of the 2001 academic years students and 22  students chosen randomly from the total of 39 students of the 2002 academic year students. The students of the 2001 academic year took the course conducted by the open instructional model, while the students of the 2002 academic year took the course conducted by the closed instructional model. The results of the analysis indicates that: (1) there is no differences in groundstroke skills between  the tennis players learn by open model and those learn by the closed model, (2) the tennis players with high coordination capability perform better groundstroke skills than those with the lower coordination capability, and (3) there is no interaction between instructional model and coordination capability with respect to their effect on the students groundstroke skills. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study contribution of visualization in motor learning. The research population is male and female  athletes in Yognkarta. The random sampling technique is utilized to select athletes as the sample of this research. This is a survey research and the data was collected by question- noire technique. There are three  (visual, auditory, and Hnesthetic) in each questionnoire. The results of this research factors  indicated that the contribution of auditory  visual  factor  is 46.91%o, and kinesthetic  factor  is 0.24o/o, factor is 52.85%o. The Iargest contribution in visualization among those from  the Hnesthetic  factor.  factors  The general conclusion is tlwt learning sport activities need all of those factors,  but kinesthetic is the most essential one.. The reason is that learning through direct various experiences will be mueh better than through obseryation. In learning sport sHlls, it is necessary to provide feedback  and use audio visual media as aids.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model tes fisik calon atlet taekwondo yang valid dan reliabel berdasarkan indikator fisik taekwondo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan pendekatan survei melalui tes pengukuran. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan berupa model tes fisik untuk calon atlet taekwondo usia 11-13 tahun. Teknik analisis data validitas menggunakan construct validity dengan korelasi Product Moment Pearson, Z skor untuk menyamakan satuan dan reliabilitas menggunakan test retest Conbrach’s Alpha dengan hasil reliabilitas panjang tungkai 1,00, kelentukan 0,992, kecepatan reaksi 0,639, kekuatan perut 0,604, power tungkai kanan 0,992, power tungkai kiri 0,998, kekuatan lengan 0,721 dan kelincahan 0,974. Hasil model tes fisik calon atlet taekwondo usia 11-13 tahun yang berupa norma dan buku panduan dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman pelatih dalam memilih bibit atlet taekwondo usia 11-13 tahun.Kata kunci: Model Tes Fisik, Taekwondo, Usia 11-13 Tahun DEVELOPING PHYSICAL MODEL TEST FOR PROSPECTIVE TAEKWONDO ATHLETE AGED 11-13 YEARSAbstractThis study aims to produce a model of a physical test of candidates taekwondo athlete which is valid and reliable based on physical indicators of taekwondo. This research is a Research and Development (RD) with survey approach through the test measurements. The result ofthis research and development is a model of a physical test for candidates of taekwondo athletes aged 11-13 years. The validity used construct validity with Product Moment Pearson correlation, Z scores were used to equalize unit and reliability used test retest Conbrach’s Alpha reliability resulting limb length as 1.00, flexibility 0.992, speed of reaction of 0.639, streght of abdominal 0.604, right leg power 0.992, left leg power 0.998, arms streght 0.721 and agility 0.974. The results of the physical tests models of taekwondo athletes candidate 11-13 years of age in the form of norms and guide books can be used as a guide in selecting taekwondo athletes aged 11-13 years.Keywords: Physical test models, Taekwondo, Age 11-13 Years
