The purpose of this paper is to measure the language skills of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon students in thesis writing by analyzing the misuse of syntactic constructs in the form of phrases and sentences based on the cause of the occurrence and how to improve it. This study uses descriptive qualitative-quantitative methods. In the preparatory stage, data collection of 18 theses of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon students was graduated in 2018 from three faculties, namely nine majors. Furthermore, all sentences containing syntax errors are recorded in the data card and categorized according to the criteria for the form of syntactic errors. Data that has been classified is then analyzed and described as errors and corrections. Comparison of misuse of phrase structure and nearly 3: 1 sentence. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kemampuan berbahasa mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon pada penulisan skripsi dengan menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan konstruksi sintaksis yang berupa frasa dan kalimat berdasarkan penyebab terjadinya dan bagaimana alternatif pembenahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif-kuantitatif. Pada tahap persiapan, dilakukan pengumpulan data 18 skripsi mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon kelulusan tahun 2018 dari tiga fakultas, yaitu sembilan jurusan. Selanjutnya semua kalimat yang mengandung kesalahan sintaksis dicatat dalam kartu data dan dikategorikan menurut kriteria bentuk kesalahan sintaksis. Data yang sudah diklasifikasikan kemudian dianalisis dan dideskripsikan kesalahan dan pembetulannya. Perbandingan kesalahan penggunaan struktur frasa dan akalimat hampir mencapai 3:1.

Thesis is the final project of writing for students as one of the important document that represents the prestige of the institution. There are still many errors or incompatibility with the principles of the scientific diversity of languages in the thesis. Therefore, research needs to be done about it. This study aims to: 1) describe the use of scientific language on the writing of students of Department of Islamic Education IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, 2) describes the types of errors using scientific language in the thesis of the department, 3) fix the mistakes the use of scientific language, and 4) writing scientific language to describe the problems and alternative solutions. Data were taken randomly by 20% (24 thesis) of a total population of 120 thesis. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the analysis of data errors, word formation found 31 errors, 61 errors word choice, sentence drafting error 62, 11 arrangement error of reasoning, and the application of rule 105 spelling errors. In addition, there are eight abstract by writing clauses ended up using the same words, but a matter of a different percentage. There are also eight title essay that begins with the word influence.

Kesalahan Morfologi Pada Teks Eksplanasi Siswa SMA Negeri 7 Cirebon Rina Maulindah; Tati Sri Uswati

Explanatory texts are new subjects that are important for students to master, including the language system. This study aims to describe the forms of morphological errors in the writing of explanatory essays in class XI students of SMAN 7 Cirebon in the academic year 2019/2020. The subject of this qualitative research was in the form of an explanatory text essay from class XI students of SMA Negeri 7 Cirebon. Data collected through a literature study. Data analysis uses document analysis by identifying, analyzing, and describing morphological errors in explanatory texts written by students. The results of this study indicate that of 58 explanatory texts, there were 296 cases, including 198 or 67% affixation writing errors, 12 or 4% writing reduplication errors and 86 or 29% writing composition/compounding errors. Teks eksplanasi merupakan mata pelajaran baru yang penting untuk dikuasai siswa, termasuk sistem kebahasaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk kesalahan morfologi pada penulisan karangan eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMAN 7 Cirebon tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Subjek penelitian kualitatif ini berupa karangan teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Cirebon. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka. Analisis data menggunakan analisis dokumen dengan mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan morfologi pada teks eksplanasi yang ditulis oleh siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 58 teks eksplanasi, terdapat 296 kasus, meliputi: 198 atau 67% kesalahan penulisan afiksasi, 12 atau 4% kesalahan penulisan reduplikasi, dan 86 atau 29% kesalahan penulisan komposisi/pemajemukan.
