Abstract

This article deals with professional teachers and challenges they face in the future. The performance of professional teachers demands hardwork to reconstruct their task and responsibility as educators. Nowadays, they bear burn critiques as researches posted them – Indonesian teachers are now in the critical situation.  In the implementation of certification project, for example, the certified teachers performances were unlikely to match with students’ success achievement. Research also confined that there were only 21.07 percents of State Elementary school teachers, twenty-eight point ninety-four percents of Private Elementary school teachers, fifty-four point twelve percents of State Junior High school teachers, and sixty point ninety-nine percents of Private Junior High school teachers who deserved to teach. While there were only sixty-five point twenty-nine percents of State Senior High school teachers and sixty-four point seventy-three Private Senior High scholl teachers who deserved to teach.Copyright © 2014 by Al-Talim All right reservedDOI: 10.15548/jt.v21i1.66

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal teaching commitment of certified teachers who teach in private Madrasah in Jambi to increase the learning. The participants are teachers (civil servant) who teach in several private Madrasah in Jambi. It is the phenomenology qualitative research, referring to the eleventh steps proposed by Spradley (1980). This research revealed two important findings. First, the teachers realize that they need to be committed in their teaching as a way to improve their professionalism and also instructional quality. The second important finding is that there is a lack of supervisory effort to supervise certified teachers, and thus there has no coordination between teachers and the stakeholders. This makes MGMP and KKG does not run effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the approach of principals managerial leadership in elementary Islamic school level at Muaro Jambi district, Jambi province. The leadership model where sets the headmaster as a manager who adopted modern management theories. In practical not all the modern management theories can apply in the leadership of headmaster. In this research, the data collection techniques by using observation, interviews, documentation. The analyzing data by using Miles and Huberman (1994: 16-18): data reduction, data display, and verification or conclusion. The findings of the research revealed managerial leadership at the school in the District Muaro not been implemented as expected and has not been effective. The findings also revealed that leadership success is very determined as follows: (1) honesty, (2) openness, (3) exemplary, (4) wisdom, (5) mindset, and (6) the effect of the leader himself.

Abstract

This study is aimed at revealing how is the empowerment of education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Fisherman village Suku Laut Kuala Tungkal. Madrasah are generally born from the initiation of society as a form of concern for the condition of the people, especially children in understanding the special religion of Islam as a matter of doubt. This research is conducted by using qualitative approach. Research result, Islamic schools gait has contributed greatly to this country not only in providing a religious understanding, but also in participating to educate the children of the nation through the educational process that has lasted tens or even hundreds of years. In its journey, the empowerment of Islamic schools experienced various dynamics, commitment of Islamic school leadership, public awareness and supporting efforts became the issue that made Islamic schools hard to develop as expected
