Article scrutinized one of the works of an American woman poet named Elizabeth Akers Allen. The poem underÂ study entitled â€œRock Me to Sleepâ€. It was a portrayal of motherhood. The speaker of this poem is a woman who is longingÂ for the love of her mother. She is seeking for a way to ease her pain since she feels that she has lost her own battle ofÂ womanhood. Although the mother remains absent, the readers of the poem can sense the powerful love of the speaker ofÂ the poem toward her mother. Method of this study was library research that carried out by applying descriptive analyticalÂ methods. Data were collected from the primary and secondary sources. Results of this paper are the writer of poetryÂ wants to warn people that womanhood in the patriarchal society can create many problems, and the only remedy for thoseÂ problems is motherhood. Article also proves that a writer does not have to be a feminist to produce a literary text whichÂ discusses the issue of women, which has became the focus of feminism.

(Tittle: Adults-Children Power Relations in Judy Blume’s “Blubber”). This study aims to uncover the power relations between adults and children in Judy Blume’s novel entitled Blubber. This study used a qualitative method by paying attention to the expressions used in the novel related to the topic of power relations of adults-children. Peer debriefing techniques were applied in this study in order to achieve the validity of the research results. The collected data of dialogues and narrations suggest that adults assert dominance toward children especially physically and psychologically as a consequence of the adults’ ideologies while trying to retain the image of a mentor. On the other hand, they also give spaces for children to grow and develop themselves. The research also revealed how Blubber paints a more realistic depiction of children and explores more of their human nature beyond images of innocence and naivety. The School Literacy Movement (SLM) was launched in 2015 by the Indonesian government in response to the concerns of many parties regarding the readiness of the Indonesian young generation to face the challenges of the 21st-century. This paper examined the philosophical foundations of SLM by scrutinizing the School Literacy Movement Master Design published in 2019 as the object of study. This study was a descriptive qualitative study, using the inferential content analysis method. The findings were: (1) the philosophical foundation of SLM that is portrayed in the object of study are essentialism, perennialism, progressivism, existentialism, and critical pedagogy, and (2) the object of the study is strongly influenced by the philosophy of progressivism since the writers of the SLM Master Design were more focused on the effort to prepare the students to face the 21st-century challenges. Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) atau The School Literacy Movement (SLM) atau dicanangkan pada tahun 2015 oleh pemerintah Indonesia, sebagai jawaban atas keprihatinan banyak pihak terkait kesiapan generasi muda Indonesia menghadapi tantangan abad 21. Tulisan ini mengkaji landasan filosofis SLM dengan menelaah Desain Induk Gerakan Literasi Sekolah terbitan 2019 sebagai objek kajian. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan metode analisis isi inferensial. Temuan penelitian adalah: (1) Landasan filosofis SLM yang tergambar dalam objek kajian adalah esensialisme, perenialisme, progresivisme, eksistensialisme, dan pedagogi kritis; dan (2) Objek kajian sangat dipengaruhi oleh filosofi progresivisme karena penulis Desain Induk SLM lebih fokus pada upaya mempersiapkan siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendiskripsikan penggunaan nursery rhymes untukmengembangkan karakter anak usia dini. (Title: Social Values that are Reflected Through the Female Characters of “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell: Sociology of Literature Study). This study aims to find and explain the social values in Trifles as reflected through the female characters in it, through the description of the social situation they face and also to analyze how the social situation influences all decisions and actions taken by those female characters. The results of this study are (1) female characters in Trifles have to face the society that tend to be prejudiced and underestimate the role of women, (2) They do not pay attention to their surroundings, and (3) they use certain appropriateness values to accept or reject others. The situation described above gives an influence on all decisions and actions taken by them, i.e. (1) they decide to take unlawful actions by removing evidence of murder, (2) withdrawing from the community, (3) doing vile deed that is committing murder.Keywords: sociology of literature, social values, play.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan latar belakang penciptaan lagu Terima Kasih Guruku, sebagai upaya merespon kebutuhan akan minimnya lagu yang berisikan penghargaan terhadap profesi guru di Indonesia. Proses penciptaan dilakukan melalui tahapan membaca berbagai literature tentang guru, musik pop dan trend music zaman sekarang yang sesuai dengan generasi Z. Selain itu, ada inspirasi dari rasa terima kasih yang mendalam terhadap perjuangan dan pengorbanan guru selama masa sekolah yang membekas dalam. Pengetahuan yang didapat selama masa sekolah telah membuahkan kesuksesan di masa depan. Dalam belajar dan pembelajaran, salah satu penggunaan lagu Terima Kasih Guruku yaitu sebagai media dalam video pembelajaran e-learning yang dimiliki oleh UNY di dalam beberapa mata kuliah. Besides that, there was such an important inspiration as deep grateful feeling to the struggle and sacrifice which had been done by teachers in school which stay in the heart. The knowledge which was acquired in the school give extra help in reaching successful life today. In teaching learning process, this song is used as media in the video under e-learning mode of study in UNY in numbers of courses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu proses pengembangan kemampuan musikalitas guru di TK Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman sehingga kemampuan guru dalam bernyanyi dan mengiringi menjadi lebih optimal. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan April sampai November 2017 menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan, dengan prosedur perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penilaian hasil, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan musikalitas guru semakin berkembang. Hal ini tampak pada hasil penilaian mendapat kategori baik meliputi kemampuan dasar bernyanyi dengan komponen artikulasi, intonasi dan ritmis, serta kemampuan dasar mengiringi dengan komponen harmoni akord, irama, dan tangga nada. Dengan cara melatih guru memahami membaca notasi musik, peka terhadap nada, irama dan tempo serta mengiringi lagu menggunakan keyboard, tindakan ini telah berhasil membantu guru di TK Panti Dewi dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan musikalitasnya.Kata kunci: pengembangan, kemampuan musikalitas, guru DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS’ MUSICAL ABILITY IN KINDERGARTEN PANTI DEWI BERBAH SLEMANAbstractThis study aims to assist the process of the development of teachers’ musical ability in kindergarten Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman so that the ability of teachers in singing and accompanying to be more optimal. The study was conducted from April to November 2017 using action research method, with planning procedures, implementation, results assessment and reflection. The results showed that the teachers’ musical abilities were growing. It can be seen from the result that it was categorised as good category in the basic ability to sing with articulation, intonation and rhythmic components and basic ability to accompany with chord, rhythm and cadence harmony components. Through training, teachers understand how to read music notes, sensitive to tone, rhythm, and tempo and use the keyboard while singing, this action has successfully helped teachers at Panti Dewi Kindergarten in developing and improving their musical ability.Keywords: development, musical ability, teachers

ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the portrayal of Victorian women and men in the poem of Moira O'Neill, entitled “The Grand Match”. The poem gives the description of men and women relationship related to the discussion of love and marriage. As one of Victorian female poets, O'Neill tries to satirize the relationship of women and men by portraying the love story of a stereotypical male fortune seeker, who marries a rich woman and denies his own feeling toward a young-charming woman. This study is an attempt to show that O'Neill's female characters are not typically women commonly found in a literary text during the era in which it was written. In many ways they position themselves as a complete break from the traditional stereotyping of women, and they even can be seen as the representation of “New Woman”. In addition, through this study, the readers would be able to broaden their perspectives that although the Victorian Age was known as the era of prose, there are a lot of poems worth reading.
