Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out : (1) the effect ICI model for attitude and ability of mathematical representation in terms of student's cognitive (2) how the model of learning ICI can affect the attitude and the ability of mathematical representation in terms of students' cognitive. The research type is a combination of research using concurrent embedded design with mixed methods. Then, quantitative methods use post test design only control group design and analyzed using MANCOVA while qualitative method using descriptive research with data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results showed that: (1) learning with the ICI Model has a positive effect on Attitude and Ability of Mathematical Representation Viewed From Student Cognitive Styles on Line and Corner Material Class (? = 30.319, p> 0.05 ), (2) Students with FI cognitive style tend to have fulfilled three components of attitude and stages of mathematical representation; students with cognitive style field dependent tend not to be able to show attitude that refers to the three components of mathematical attitudes and have been able to understand the problems but in representing less and not yet able to complete the solution of the problems given.

Abstract

Mathematics is a critical tool for young people as they confront issues and challenges in personal, occupational, societal, and scientific aspects of their lives. It is thus important to have an understanding of the degree to which young people emerging from school are adequately prepared to apply mathematics to understanding important issues and solving meaningful problems. This study aims to know the effect of Indonesian realistic mathematics education learning (PMRI) using know-what-learn worksheet to students’ attitude and problem solving ability of grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Kuta Utara. This research is a combination research that used concurrent embedded design mixed methods. The population of the research was the students of grade VII of SMP Negeri 1 Kuta Utara in 2016/2017. Two classes as samples were taken from twelve classes with cluster random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using MANOVA. The results of the study shows that (1) PMRI using Know-What-Learn Worksheet Learning positively affected the students’ attitude and math problem solving ability (? = 25.440, p > 0.05), (2) PMRI using Know-What-Learn Worksheet learning process can improve interest in math, understanding, liveliness in the learning process, and math meaningfulness in the daily life of students.

Abstract

ST. Kertha Budi Luhur is the youth organization of the Kayumas Kelod traditional banjar which was founded around 1995. One of the social activities of the Sekaa Teruna is to focus on environmental and waste issues. Related to the issue of waste ST. Kertha Budi Luhur plans to establish a waste bank. The waste bank is an alternative solution that can be done by the community in terms of waste management or management. Waste banks can increase public participation to care more about the waste they produce daily, besides that, with the existence of waste banks, the community can get economic value feedback. Therefore, in this community service, socialization and training were carried out on how to form a waste bank. This community service activity is broadly divided into initial socialization activities aimed at providing initial information about waste banks and technical training activities aimed at providing a more detailed explanation of the waste bank operations, from sorting waste to working with garbage collectors. Increased awareness of waste management by 85% of ST members Kertha Budi Luhur after the training.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mathematics learning assisted by geogebra learning media on the learning motivation of class X senior high school students in geometric materials. This research is a quasi-experimental research with the dependent variable of student learning motivation and the independent variable is STEM assisted by geogebra learning media. The research design is a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were 68 students. The data collection instruments used were mathematics learning achievement tests and learning motivation questionnaires. The data were analyzed by covariance analysis with pre-test scores as covariates at a significance level of 5% (d = 0.05}. The results of this study were; the application of STEM assisted by Geogebra learning media had a positive effect on student learning motivation. The results of the covariance analysis showed that the value was sig.0.001 < 0.05.
