Abstract

The development of tourism in Bali cannot be separated from the role of artists and the community in preserving Balinese culture and tradition. This paper aims to analyze the role of artists in the preservation of Balinese culture that is associated with the promotion of Bali tourism in overseas through cultural performances which is currently known as marketing 3.0 models. Through research literatures, interviews to sample of participants and qualitative descriptive approach, this paper suggests that artists and society since the colonial era to the present day have taken an important role as tourism promotion ambassador of Bali and Indonesia, where the artists and the community have successfully presented the emotion or the spirit of Bali’s tourism a ractions.

Abstract

Modernisasi mengubah perilaku manusia serba cepat bahkan ada kecenderungan pragmatis. Ilmu pengetahuan modern menjanjikan kemudahan-kemudahan kepada manusia sehingga banyak masyarakat yang menginginkan serba cepat dan praktis. Hal ini juga berpengaruh terhadap pola pikir, sikap dan perilaku masyarakat yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada adanya pergeseran peradaban manusia. Pergeseran ini juga terjadi pada sektor pertanian, yang pada awalnya pertanian di Bali dikerjakan secara tradisional dan penuh kekerabatan (dharma pemaculan) sekarang sudah berpindah cara, yakni dengan revolusi hijau yang menawarkan hasil panen lebih banyak dan lebih cepat. Tulisan ini akan membahas satu hal yaitu implikasi bergesernya substansi Dharma Pemaculan terhadap sistem pendidikan keagamaan Hindu di Bali, dengan mempergunakan teori Dharma Pemaculan dan Teori Pendidikan Kritis. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan pemikiran terhadap fenomena yang terjadi pada masyarakat agraris khususnya yang berimplikasi terhadap pendidikan keagamaan Hindu yang berbasis pelestarian budaya lokal.

Abstract

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic at the beginning of 2020 in Indonesia and around the world made Bali tourism really experience an extraordinary downturn. To the extent that Bali's economy has fallen far below the national economic growth, which previously surpassed national economic growth, reaching more than 5% (Bank Indonesia Bali Report May 2020). Especially for Bali, it is necessary to immediately address all affected tourist destinations. The quick and appropriate steps to restore Bali's tourism conditions are through the recovery of post-Covid-19 Bali tourism, known as the revitalization of tourist destinations. This study focuses on (1) the factors causing the revitalization of cultural tourism destinations outside the Uluwatu temple in the new normal era, (2) the process of revitalizing cultural tourism destinations outside the Uluwatu temple in the new normal era, (3) the implications of revitalizing tourist destinations the culture of the area outside the Uluwatu temple on socio-cultural, economic, and religious life in the new normal era. The theory used in this research is; (1) Reconstruction theory put forward by George S. Count and Harold Rugg which says society needs reconstruction/change and social change involves changing education, using education in changing society; (2) Structural Theory by Anthony Giddens which says individuals are agents who have a lot of knowledge (knowledgeable agents) and the ability to understand their own actions; and (3) Stuart Hall's Reception Theory which says that audience members can play an active role in decoding messages because they depend on their own social context, and may be able to change the message themselves through collective action, which means the community's response to the implementation of revitalization. cultural tourism destinations outside the Uluwatu temple. This research uses qualitative analysis method with interpretive descriptive. The results obtained are as follows; (1) the revitalization program is very much in line with the trend of government programs after the Covid-19 outbreak, which is highly expected by tourists today because of the implementation of CHSE-based health protocols (Cleanliness, Healthy, Safety, Environment) in the new normal era regarding the revitalization of tourist destinations; (2) the process of revitalizing tourist destinations in the new normal era, there are 3 strategies applied to accelerate the revitalization, namely; a) Innovation, b) Collaboration, c) Communication; (3) the implications of revitalizing cultural tourism destinations outside the Uluwatu Temple in the new normal era, namely the socio-cultural life of the community is stretching again, the economy is starting to grow and religious behavior in the aspect of the dimension of belief makes people closer to Ida Shang Hyang Widi Wasa.

Abstract

Utama Widya Pasraman Astika Dharma Karangasem is a Hindu religious education unit for high school education, according to Minister of Religion Regulation Number 10 of 2020 concerning Hindu Religious Education. The problems faced are not having their dapodik (primary educational data) house, still joining dapodik from the Ministry of Education and Culture, government assistance is not maximized, the community still considering formal pasraman as nonformal institutions such as weekly pasraman, some people thinking pasraman graduates cannot continue their studies at public tertiary institutions. This study aims to explore and analyze the School-Based Management System at Utama Widya Pasraman Astika Dharma Karangasem, so that later it can contribute to efforts to manage Pasraman. The method used is qualitative, with data analysis consisting of domain analysis, taxonomy, componential, and cultural themes. The study results show that the School Based Management System is applied according to input, process, and output characteristics. In full management implementation, community leaders are involved in improving the quality of education at Utama Widya Pasraman Astika Dharma Karangasem.

Abstract

Many temples in Bali have been renovated without regard to their historical value, resulting in many new forms, ornaments, and materials even though the temple as a cultural heritage has cultural, social, and religious values. This research aimed to examine the reasons and process of restoring Pemedal Agung and Penyengker in the Pura Desa (Village Temple) and Pura Puseh (Puseh Temple) of Denpasar Traditional Village and analyze the restoration implementation implications of Pemedal Agung and Penyengker in the Pura Desa and Pura Puseh of Denpasar Traditional Village. This research used qualitative methods through a case study and ethnographic approach. The results showed that the causal factors in Denpasar Traditional Village restoring Pemedal Agung and Penyengker in the Pura Desa and Pura Puseh were due to a shared understanding of the importance of the traces and historical values in the temple building. It was outlined in the Perarem (rules) regarding the procedures for the temple repair process, and the community understands the importance of Denpasar’s identity value. The restoration stages and process of Pemedal Agung and Penyengker in the Pura Desa and Pura Puseh of Denpasar Traditional Village began with the planning process, identification of building form and damage, technical document preparations, procurement of construction workers, restoration implementation, and periodic supervision. The restoration process was accompanied by a series of Balinese Hindu ritual processes, namely Nuntun, Ngeruak, Mendem Pedagingan, Ngingsirang Pretime, and Ngeteg Linggih ceremonies. The restoration implications of Pemedal Agung and Penyengker in the Pura Desa and Pura Puseh of Denpasar Traditional Village could provide cultural significance, such as aesthetic, social, and religious values, with substantial cultural and symbolic capital.
