Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of tofu waste substitution in basal feed on carcass weight and giblets weight of broiler chickens. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. If it is significant, it will be followed by Duncan's Test. This research was carried out in Practice Field of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Palangka Raya Christian University Laboratory. The results showed that the substitution of tofu waste on basal feed greatly influenced carcass and giblets weight, and there was no substitution rate of tofu waste on basal feed which could reach maximum carcass weight and giblets weight. Keywords : Tofu waste, basal feed, carcass, giblets.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of continued substitution of tofu on basal feed (BR-2) on the performance of broiler chickens at the age of 4-6 weeks (Phase Finisher), and to determine the level of substitution of tofu on basal feed (BR-2) to giving the appearance of broiler chickens at the age of 4-6 weeks (Phase Finisher). The study was conducted using completely randomized design (CRD) with A = 100% treatment of basal feed (BR-2), B = 15% + 85% tofu basal feed (BR -2), C = 30% + 70% tofu basal feed (BR-2), and D = 45% + 55% tofu basal feed (BR-2), each treatment was repeated 5 times so that there are 20 units trial. Variable observed included weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion. The results showed substitution of tofu on a basal feed affect the appearance, that were body weight gain, feed intake. and feed conversion at the age of 4 weeks. No effect on feed conversion at the age of 5 and 6 weeks. Treatment A and treatment B were able to give the appearance of good growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn for commercial purposes. To determine the relationship between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn in commercial feed. The research was conducted at the practice and research location of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Palangka Raya Christian University. The measurement aspect includes the independent variable (live weight) and the dependent variable (carcass weight). Test the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable with a simple linear regression statistical test with a real test level of 0.05. Data processing used SPSS version 17 computer program and the study used 80 broiler chickens and each treatment used 4 tails. The results of this study showed that the ratio between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn in commercial feed was quite high, ranging from 69.48-71.54%. And the correlation ranged between (r = 0.566-0.975). There is a very strong relationship between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens, namely in treatment B (5% yellow corn + 100% BR) and treatment C (10% yellow corn + 100% BR), while a strong relationship is in treatment A (without yellow corn) and treatment D (15% yellow corn + 100% BR). Keywords : Regression, broiler chicken, carcass weight
