Abstract

Background. Smartphone is the main communication device that provides various information including child health information nowadays. Objective. To find out the overview of smartphone usage among the mothers to seek out child’s health information. Methods. An observasional descriptive study with cross sectional approach in 232 subjects. The data was obtained from 4 primary health care: Alianyang, Kampung Bali, Pal 3, and Karya Mulia. Result. There are 61.7% of mothers use smartphone as the main media to find obtain child health information. Most of the subject, 44.4% mothers are moderate duration users, 53.9% of mothers low frequency users, and 27.7% of mothers use smartphone for communication (call message). There are 34.7% of mothers choose social media as a reading source, 75.9% of mothers have browsing duration for 15-30 minutes, and mothers practicing the information they get from smartphone (54.7%). Conclusion.  Smartphones is the main information media for mothers, the average duration of use is 1-3.5 hours/day, the frequency of checking is less than 10 times/day, with the main function as communication device. Mothers use social media as the main source for child’s health information through smartphone, with browsing duration of 15-30 minutes and they practice the information obtained from smartphone.

Abstract

Growth and development of a child is influenced by several factors, including nutritional status and head circumference. Childreen who experience growth and developmental disorders are called children with special needs who have several categories, one of them is interference in speech and language. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and head circumference in children with special needs in Psychiatric Hospital Sungai Bangkong Pontianak. This study is an analytic survey with a cross sectional design on 40 children with special needs in Psychiatric Hospital Sungai Bangkong Pontianak. The results of the study were tested with the Somers'd test, chi-square test, and Fisher's test with the help of the computer program. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between nutritional status and speech delay (p: 0,376). Bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between head circumference and speech delay (p: 0,537).

Abstract

Malnutrition and disability are major global health problems. Malnutrition can cause to a variety of disabilities, and disability can contribute to malnutrition. This study aims to overview of special needs children nutritional status with gross motor delay age 0-6 years in the Regional Psychiatric Hospital of Sungai Bangkong. The design of this study was a cross-sectional descriptive study on 54 children with special needs in Psychiatric Hospital Sungai Bangkong Pontianak. The results showed that special needs children nutritional status in Down Syndrome is normal (63,7%), severely wasted (9,1%), wasted (27,3%). Cerebral Palsy obtained (50,0%) normal, wasted (33,3%), severely wasted (16,7%). Gross motor delay is (63,0%) normal, (14,8%) wasted, (3,7%) severely wasted, (11,1%) are possible risk of overweight, (3,7%) overweight, (3,7%) obesity. ADHD have normal nutritional status (100%). PDD NOS have wasted (33,3%), normal (33,3%), overweight (33,3%). This shows conclusion that red flag, risk factor of children before, during, after birth and maternal risk will influence nutritional status and gross motor development.

Abstract

Background: Video is one of learning media that is very useful in explaining various basic clinical skills, infant anthropometric measurements, especially in distance learningLearning Media Review: The video is structured into two parts, namely the provision of short visual material and demonstration of clinical skills in infant anthropometric measurements in audio and visual form. Validation by media experts, material experts, and teaching lecturers stated that video was appropriate for use as a learning media. Small group trials found that video provide knowledge that can be understood by the target audience.Conclusion: Preparation of videos with validation by experts can produce appropriate learning media and increase the target audience's knowledge
