Abstract

Bandayo Pobo'ide is one of the traditional houses in Indonesia that uses natural ventilation as a physiological cooling. Nowadays, Bandayo Pobo'ide houses are used only for traditional ceremonies. In the past, the houses were used both for residence as well as for conducting traditional ceremonies. This affects the need for natural ventilation in the house. The role of openings is a major factor in providing physiological comfort in space. The percentage of openings that can accommodate the comfort of the room is 40% of the total wall area. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of openings for current activities. Field measurements were carried out to determine the phenomena in and around Bandayo Pobo'ide. Descriptive method was used to explain the effectiveness of the opening against the physiological comfort which will be calculated based on WSC (wind support comfort). The results showed that the openings were less than 40%, therefore the wind speed inside the building was relatively stagnant at 0.1m/s.

Abstract

Garbage collection locations scattered at various points often make it difficult for citizens to find the nearest garbage collection location. Therefore, it is necessary to provide media that could help the public in finding the nearest garbage collection location. This study aims to design a geographic information system of garbage collection locations in the Pohuwato Regency area. This system will utilize tools that could be accessed for free, namely Google Maps so that the locals readily access the information needed. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The results showed that people in Pohuwato Regency could find garbage collection locations in each sub-district which was detected through the geographic information system and thus made it easier for people to find the nearest garbage collection point.

Abstract

Salah satu penggunaan energi pada bangunan yang terbesar berasal dari penggunaan air conditioning (AC) untuk kenyamanan fisiologis penghuni. Oleh karena itu penghawaan alami merupakan salah satu cara yang dapat ditempuh untuk mengurangi penggunaan energi di dalam sebuah bangunan. Permukiman nelayan merupakan salah satu yang menggunakan penghawaan alami dengan mekanisme perbedaaan tekanan udara dengan menerapkan strategi ventilasi silang (cross ventilation). Kawasan permukiman nelayan di Marisa yang padat bangunan menjadikan performa dari ventilasi alami menjadi berkurang. Pengukuran lapangan dilakukan untuk mengetahui fenomena di dalam dan sekitar Permukiman Nelayan, metode pengukuran lapangan dan kuesioner digunakan untuk mengetahui sensasi termal yang dirasakan oleh penghuni, yang kemudian akan dibandingkan dengan standar kenyamanan termal di Indonesia. Selain itu, perhitungan menggunakan wind support comfort untuk mengetahui kecepatan angin yang dibutuhkan untuk mencapai kenyamanan penghuni.
