Abstract

Abstract

The natural laboratory is an introduction to practical tools that are directly obtained in the surrounding area. The application of natural laboratories in external schools is very useful because in extraordinary schools we can meet students who have physical deficiencies. Extraordinary schools in Hutaimbaru have shortcomings including the deaf, mentally retarded where students here can't hear, so that in this service activity direct practicum is used through the tools found in the place, so that the students understand better and the student's character is better. sharpened. This is because students know that with this natural laboratory, students indirectly know that the learning obtained at school can be obtained through students' direct experience.

Abstract

The research had done in sixth (VI) semester students of Physics Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan 2018/2019 Academic Year, the total is 20 people. Researchers applied PhET Simulation Interactive based learning by using komputers on modern physics material. The type of research is Classroom Action Research that conducted in three cycles. The purpose of this study was to find out the increasing of understanding student concepts through the application of PhET-based learning media, due to the learning of Modern Physics and it was hoped that students would be able to follow the development of knowledge and technology, one of them is nanotechnology. The learning media that used in this study are Lesson Plan (RPP), Instruments, student activity observation sheets, and observation sheets of the lecturers’ ability to manage learning. The results showed that the application of PhET simulation learning media in physics learning was effective in increasing the understanding of physics concepts of modern physics subject students increasing in each cycle. In the first cycle, the ability to understand the concepts of student physics is still very low with a percentage of 45%, the learning method is still centered on the lecturer, and the response of students to subjects is low. After applying the PhET simulation in cycle II, the understanding of students 'physics concepts increased to 65%, the level of lecturer management in learning was 69.23%, and the students' response was positive in learning. In cycle III, the learning objectives are achieved with a level of understanding the concepts of physics by 85%, pengeloalan lecturers in the classroom by 84.6%, and learning increasingly attract the attention of students. It can be concluded that the PhET simulation learning media in physics learning is very effective to improve student activity in modern physics subject matter of photoelectric effects. The practicality of animation media using simulations can be seen from the students' responses to the implementation of learning using the PhET simulation media for the photoelectric effect results of the development of material / content, linguistic, presentation and graphic aspects. Students are increasingly interested because it is easier and helped to learn through PhET simulation media. The application of PhET simulation learning media in physics learning contributes effectively to lecturers to develop professionalism in managing learning.

Abstract

In the era of development of science and technology until 2019 it has become increasingly sophisticated and makes life easier for humans. This progress has led to increasingly sophisticated technology with the intention of making life easier, practical, efficient and not experiencing much difficulty. But the development of these technologies, have positive and negative impacts. Positive impacts such as convenience, while negative impacts such as air pollution. Contamination of pollutants into the air resulting from factory activities, power plants and motor vehicles spread to the environment. This substance is very damaging to the environment which causes the air we breathe to be polluted and very influential on health. This study aims to describe the process of spreading pollutant concentrations in the air originating from factory chimney fumes. Pollutants that spread in the air can be modeled with the dispersion gauss model which is processed using the MATLAB programming language. The expected results from modeling are the distance of the highest pollutant concentration area and the range of pollutant coverage that spread, so that later will be done variations of the effective height of the chimney emission (H) to get results that vary according to the height of the chimney.

Abstract

This research was carried out to evaluate English learning in Non-English Department Students at Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan University by using the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model for optimization in distance or online learning. Kirkpatrick's evaluation model consists of level 1 reaction, level 2 learning, level 3 behavior, and level 4 result. Of the four levels for the Kirkpatrick Model Evaluation, each is assessed using a different assessment tool and data collected using questionnaires and interviews and data analysis techniques with descriptive statistics. The Slovin formula determines the object of this research with a margin of error of 5% who is a non-English student of the University of Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan. The result showed that each of the Kirkpatrick Evaluation model's components had been appropriately applied. Students are expected to be more active in studying material from various sources and practicing many questions to improve their understanding through online learning. It recognized the value of studying for the future, forming online study groups with friends to encourage a desire to learn, and engaging in activities that can boost knowledge while lying down, such as watching learning videos or using other learning resources on smartphones.
