Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of contact time on % adsorption of ethanol extract of Pucuk Merah (Syzigium oleana) Shoot-Leaves (PMSL) by filter paper. The ethanol extract of PMSL was obtained by using maceration technique for 24 hours with material liquor ratio (MLR) of 1:7 (g/ml). The adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper was done at different contact times, i.e. 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes with MLR of 1:100 (g/ml), filter paper weight of 0.2850 ± 0.0092 g, solution volume of 30 ml and temperature of 81oC. The results showed that contact time effect on adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper. The % adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper increased with an increase in the contact time. The optimum contact time on the adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL by filter paper was 90 minutes. Keyword : Pucuk merah shoot-leaves, Syzigium oleana, contact time, adsorption.

Abstract

The use of natural extracts from plants mobilized onto solid media as acid-base and pH indicators is being attention of researchers. The mobilization of the ethanol extract of Syzigium oleana shoot leaves has been done and produces paper indicator that can be changed its colorin different pH. This study was designed to determine the effect of temperature on the adsorption of the ethanol extract of S. oleana shoot leavesonto filter paper. The ethanol extract of S. oleana shoot leaves was obtained by using maceration technique for 24 hours with material liquor ratio (MLR) of 1: 7. The adsorption ofethanol extract of S. oleana shoot leaves onto filter paper was carried out at different temperature, i.e. 27°C, 52°C and 81°C with MLR of 1: 100, filter paper weight of 0.2949 ± 0.0035 gram and solution volumeof 30 mL for 2 hours. The results showed that temperature effect on the adsorption of ethanol extract of S. oleana shoot leaves onto filter paper. Abstract

Kulit nangka mengandung karbohidrat sebesar 15,87%, selulosa sebesar 38,69 % dan protein 1,30%. Jerami nangka mengandung protein sebesar 1,30%, lemak sebesar 0,60% dan karbohidrat sebesar 15,87%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar air, serat, protein, lemak, pati dan abu tepung kulit dan jerami nangka. Uji nutrisi menggunakan uji proksimat. Hasil uji menunjukan bahwa tepung kulit dan jerami nangka mengandung kadar air sebesar 8,167±2,201%, serat sebesar 37,650±1,202%, protein sebesar 7,850±0,778%, kadar abu sebesar 7,355±0,163%, kadar lemak sebesar 7,933±0,004%, dan kadar pati sebesar 16,480±0,00%. Kata kunci: proksimat, protein, lemak, air, abu, dan pati.
