Abstract

Instagram is a social media that has a visual power. Together with, many parties both individuals and organizations use Instagram to get some information they want to convey. For instance, PT. Hood Digital Asia (Kufed) who created @thekufed account to develop their messages that will be delivered to their publics. They used their own strategy by adjusting the characters and the concepts with their targets. Therefore, this study explored about how @thekufed designed their messages strategy. The researcher used qualitative method with descriptive approach to examine Kufed’s message plan and strategy, such as teaser, community building, collaboration with influencers for content production and curation of products, as well as  planning the story to strengthen the visual content with emotionless. The conclusion is Kufed has implemented the message strategy based on its concept and character.

Abstract

The development of technology and communication has brought many changes, especially in broadcast industry. Since the internet era, people could listen to music through various media portals that they accessed through smartphones. This trend is known as media convergence, where there is an interlacing between internet and radio. The birth of media convergence in radio industry also gave rise to the term of ‘streaming’, where the content broadcasted live through the internet, in the form of audio and video. One of the streaming radio service providers in Indonesia is JOOX. This scientific work’s aim is to provide an overview and contribution to the era of new media, especially for music and radio industry. The concept of online strategy in music radio programming from Newton and Kaiser is being used. The result showed that JOOX is an audio visual based live streaming program that facilitates musicians to promote their new albums, as well as the place to interact with their fans through the live-chat feature as a form of engagement.

Abstract

Abstrak. Youtube sebagai media sosial telah menjadi sarana untuk mendapatkan informasi dan referensi. Seiring dengan meningkatnya kesadaran wanita akan penampilan, maka salah satu dari beragam konten media yang diminati di Youtube adalah konten tentang kecantikan. Abel Cantika, seorang pengisi konten kecantikan di Youtube atau bisa disebut beauty influencer, dalam waktu relatif singkat yaitu satu tahun, sudah bisa meraih jumlah pelanggan sebesar 150 ribu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya yang dilakukan Abel Cantika sebagai beauty influencer dalam memanfaatkan kanal Youtube untuk mempresentasikan diri, sehingga bisa diminati banyak orang. Dengan teori Dramaturgi oleh Erving Goffman, maka penelitian ini difokuskan pada panggung depan yang ditampilkan Abel Cantika di Youtube. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan kualitatif secara deskriptif melalui wawancara mendalam, dan dianalisis dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Abel Cantika menampilkan jati dirinya yang asli, dan tidak menjadi diri orang lain, sehingga hasil presentasi diri yang muncul di Youtube bisa maksimal. Kata kunci: Presentasi Diri, Dramaturgi, Beauty Influencer, YouTube, Abel Cantika  Abstract. Youtube as a social media has become a means to obtain information and references. As women's awareness of appearance increases, one of the various media content that is in demand on Youtube is content about beauty. Abel Cantika, a filler of beauty content on Youtube or can be called a beauty influencer, in a relatively short time of one year, has been able to reach the number of customers of 150 thousand. This study aims to determine the efforts made by Abel Cantika as a beauty influencer in utilizing Youtube channels to present themselves, so that they can be attracted by many people. With Dramaturgi's theory by Erving Goffman, this research is focused on the front stage displayed by Abel Cantika on Youtube. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, and analyzed by interactive models of Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that Abel Cantika displays his true identity, and does not become the self of others, so that the results of self-presentation that appears on Youtube can be maximized. Abstract

Saat ini, kekerasan hewan telah menjadi masalah di kalangan kelompok masyarakat tertentu. Salah satunya adalah organisasi yang khusus memperjuangkan hak-hak hewan seperti People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Ini menggunakan sejumlah media untuk menyampaikan pesan dan kampanyenya, misalnya melalui video yang diunggah di Youtube. Video berjudul "Jika Tukang Kebun Bertindak Seperti Shearers dan Petani Domba" menceritakan kisah tentang bagaimana domba disiksa ketika mereka dicukur. Menurut PETA, tujuan dari video ini adalah untuk mengurangi konsumsi wol dan bulu binatang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan teori semiotik Charles Sanders Peirce. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pesan moral untuk tidak menyiksa makhluk hidup. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan untuk mengukur persepsi penonton dari video ini dan memeriksa tingkat keberhasilan kampanye dan elemen sinematografi lainnya secara lebih rinci.Kata Kunci: Moral, pesan, video Youtube, hak-hak binatang
