Abstract

Indonesian comics have a long and growing history in very diverse categories and had played an important role in the past as a medium for visual communication in Indonesia. The problems faced are reintroducing the diversity of the history of comics in Indonesia from the beginning to the present through the design of the museum in chronological storytelling spaces. The method for solving the problem is by using the symbolic analogy method, by analogizing the main part of the comic, namely the story panels as spaces, the trenches between panels as circulation between spaces, and the relationship between panels as story sequences. The concept of sequences between panels with breaks in the form of trenches is an option in producing designs, namely connecting spaces and spaces that are different from each other with a linear and chronological circulation.

Abstract

Banjarbaru City is one of the areas in South Kalimantan which is widely known to the public as a diamond-producing area. Many wilah in the city of Banjarbaru that are used as mining locations, PT Galuh Cempaka is one of them. At PT Galuh Cempaka's diamond mine, there are many abandoned diamond mining equipment that will eventually become a pile of scrap metal. The workshop equipment still has an economic and aesthetic selling point. In this case, it becomes interesting to develop a tourist attraction with the concept of a workshop equipment park. So that we need a place that can provide information for the community to raise awareness of the negative impacts of mining. To realize the development of a diamond mining workshop, PT Galuh Cempaka Banjarbaru has become a memorial park that can provide information on the negative impacts of mining. Layering method is used with the principle of superimposition to accumulate special interest tourism activity programs and information galleries.

Abstract

The planning of the golf venue at the Banjarbaru Sport Center by the government that prioritizes golfers in the field of achievement must of course have complete facilities and national standards in order to accommodate when South Kalimantan hosts a golf tournament at the national level, the main facility in a golf venue is the Golf Club House which acting as a place of preparation for golfers before or after playing in the field, this club house must not only accommodate the golf course it serves in order to create a bond between the club house and the golf course and provide a sense of comfort for its visitors. To solve these problems, the functional Architecture method and the User Experience concept are used which pay attention to four points in the design, namely air exchange, lighting, materials and exposure to solar heat

Abstract

The Gig Economy is one result of the influence of the development of internet technology, defined as the trend of working with a short-term contract system, not fixed, but has the advantage of flexibility. Coworking Space is here to offer space rentals that can accommodate high-mobility work activities, targeting consumers; Generation Z as a group of actors who dominate the Gig Economy trend. Greater Flexibility, or better flexibility, is a problem that will be resolved in the design of the Coworking Space in Banjarbaru. Workspaces that have high flexibility are considered the right strategy to meet the needs of high mobility as well. The concept of Fluidity Space is applied using the superimposition method; separate the elements of the event forming the architecture, then rearrange them randomly to form three relationship programs, namely; reciprocity, indifference and conflict. These three relationships will be used to test the flexibility of spaces so that high fluidity is achieved to answer the flexibility problem in the Coworking Space in Banjarbaru.

Abstract

Waste is a problem that has become a never-ending topic to get talked about all over the world. Indonesia alone has produced 67 tons of waste only in 2019 by the percentage of organic waste dominating more than half of the total waste. The issuance of a presidential regulation on waste management coupled with a law that regulates sustainable economic policies became the reason why the Zero Waste Collaborative Shop in Banjarbaru gets to design. So the problem that needs to be solved is how to design a Zero Waste Collaborative Shop that can accommodate the interactions between the environment, society, and economy so the three of them could integrate with the surrounding community? Zero Waste is a philosophy that is used as a lifestyle to encourage the cycle of resources so a product can be used sufficiently, and not excessively while the rest of the waste can be reprocessed. The design of the Zero Waste Collaborative Shop will have three problems, which are environmental, social, and economic issues. Therefore, the locality was chosen as the method to assist the Stacking the System concept which is expected to be the solution to these problems. The results of this paper are formulating the concept of planning the commercial space by stacking the permaculture systems, circular economy, and community collaboration, with the outcomes in the form of 1) The implementation of the reuse principle in former office buildings that are not maintained so that it will have new functions 2) Analyzing the climate data surrounding the site so that it is following the needs of the site location 3) Utilizing the permaculture ethical principles, that respect natural resources such as land, water, sun and wind 4) Mapping the utility flow schemes as a model for commercial space 5) Providing space for surrounding communities in the application of Zero Waste to everyday life

Abstract

Banjarese houses are developed especially in the wooden foundation’s construction. In case, this construction had many problems as an unstable foundation that caused building slope, building renovation, vertical development, etc. Pole stick hardwood timbers are needed to strengthen to support the building’s load. Based on this condition, it is necessary to conduct research related to find a model that explained how wooden foundations are modified. This paper's method was to collect field observation data by a photograph. Samples of observation were chosen that show the modification and variation progress of pole stick hardwood and woodpile foundation. Applied modification models were founded, that it were combined the wooden foundations with concrete foundations. It is useful to strengthen the building’s load support. This model was suited to the wetland area.

Abstract

Creative economy has become an integral part of the global economy today. In Indonesia, particularly in the city of Yogyakarta, the creative industry and economy are experiencing rapid growth, especially in the startup sector. However, many startup entrepreneurs face challenges in having their own offices and choose to work from places such as homes, cafes, or rented accommodations to develop their businesses. This is mainly due to the high cost of office rentals, long lease terms, and limited flexibility. In this context, Co-working Spaces are considered an ideal solution because they offer affordable rental costs and are accessible to various types of businesses. Furthermore, Co-working Spaces should provide a conducive environment for various activities in the digital creative economy, particularly in the context of startup business development. Therefore, there is a need to design a Co-working Space in Yogyakarta that offers a high level of spatial flexibility to facilitate collaboration and networking among industry players. The design incorporates the concept of spatial flexibility using the superimposition method, where architectural elements that form the space are separated and rearranged randomly to create three types of relationships: reciprocity, disregard, and contradiction. These three relationships are implemented to achieve optimal spatial flexibility and address the challenges in designing a Co-working Space in Yogyakarta.
