Abstract

Kata Kunci: Abalistes stellaris, Anisakis spp., endoparasit ABSTRACT      This study aims to identify endoparasite on Starry Triggerfish (Abalistes stellaris) obtained from the Lampulo Fish Auction Site (TPI) Banda Aceh. The study was conducted in May 2016 at the Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Unsyiah. As many as 25 Abalistes stellaris were collected and then examined to find out endoparasites. Before examined, the length of fish were measured and based on the existence of spawn in the abdomen, the sex was identified. Observations of the endoparasites were done by observing internal organs of fish macroscopic then microscopic. The results revealed that the fish were infected by Anisakis spp. and Tetraphylidea in the stomach and intestines of fish with a prevalence rate of each endoparasite between 12% and 36%. Results also showed that the longer the fish length is, the more parasites were obtained. Keywords: Abalistes stellaris, Anisakis spp., endoparasites
